Lighten Up Your Skincare Routine for Spring

Replenishing Gel

Written by: Abi Mogge, Staff Writer

Spring is upon us and it’s time to start tweaking your skin care regimen to match your warm weather needs. Will you be using lighter formulas? Maybe upping the SPF on your daily sunscreen? Trying out a new cruelty free formula or two? One product that I intend to keep in steady supply this spring and summer is the Aloe Replenishment Gel by Leaping Bunny certified company, Naturopathica.

The Aloe Replenishment Gel is a moisturizing gel that repairs and rejuvenates skin. Containing all of the healing goodness of pure aloe vera and enhanced by the addition of hyaluronic acid (derived from yeast extract), prickly pear cactus stem extract, and gotu kola extract.

It feels cool and refreshing to the skin immediately upon application. It’s great for soothing wind and sun burn, calming irritated or inflamed skin or simply to give skin an overnight pick-me-up. It is recommended as a 10 min. mask or as an overnight treatment.  Personally, I like to reap as many benefits as possible, so I like to give it a full night to work its magic!  My skin feels smoother and more hydrated, as well as visibly brighter and fresher.

I like to use this after sun exposure, when I’m tired or stressed, in place of moisturizer or on top to seal in the moisture, at night as a restorative treatment, under sunscreen to give my skin a boost against sun damage…okay, the list goes on and on!  This gel is highly effective stuff.

Let’s talk about the magic ingredients. The star of this formula is aloe vera gel, which prevents redness and inflammation caused by excessive sun exposure. It aids in repairing the skin’s collagen and natural immune system. Hyaluronic acid helps the skin retain moisture. Gotu Kola extract has strong wound healing properties and increases the level of antioxidants in the skin. Prickly pear cactus stem extract also helps to bind water to the skin, contains essential vitamins, antioxidants and amino acids, and soothes while basically blocking your skin from sending ‘stress signals’ from sensory nerves in the skin. This gel is great after a stressful day – It’s like a little pick-me-up for your complexion!

Naturopathica produces skin & hair care that is certified as natural, organic and cruelty free. They eliminate additives like parabens, glycols and sulfates, and instead add clinically proven ingredients like the ones listed above that provide real, visible benefits to the skin. The Aloe Vera Replenishment Gel is vegan and gluten-free, as well as boasting a Leaping Bunny and EcoCert status, which certifies their commitment to organic and cruelty-free practices.
