Cruelty Free Solution for Thinning Hair and Root Touch-ups!
I found this new product that I think you guys will really like! It’s called Rich & Thick Hair by Organic Brilliance, and it’s a powder made of botanical fibers that you can use to touch up your roots between color sessions, fill in thinning hair spots, add body to fine hair, or use as a dry shampoo (or all of the above!).
Rich & Thick Hair is made with certified organic, wild harvested and natural ingredients. It’s cruelty free (but not vegan due to the addition of silk proteins). You choose a shade that matches your hair color (you can mix them if there isn’t an exact match already). I tried Medium and Dark Brown. The Medium matched my natural color and the Dark worked better after my winter hair color by Patricia Lynn Laas. Then squeeze the powdery fibers out of the tube directly into your hair, and buff out with the brush that comes with it. OR, you can put it on the brush and be a little more delicate with it – buffing it into the spots that need it.
It’s really cool how much the fibers stick to each other to add major volume. It’s naturally ‘negatively charged’, so it blends completely into, and strongly binds to your scalp and hair. I like to put it in my hair’s natural part, because my skin is so pale, and I feel like the part is really noticeable. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t want my hair to look like it’s thinning, so this gives me a little extra confidence in that area.
I found that it stayed in until I was ready to shampoo it out. And I didn’t have any issues with the colors running (not that I tested it in a rainstorm or anything!). My hair felt like it had something in it when I touched it, but it wasn’t overly stiff like hairspray, and I didn’t notice it all once it was in.
Bottom line – this is the perfect solution for men and women who have thinning hair (there are some really amazing before/afters on their site), need a quick root touch up, or just want a dry shampoo that matches their hair color perfectly (no more weird white powder!).
