I’m really bummed that Benefit is not cruelty free because I have always loved their products and fun packaging. But, until they change their ways, I’ll keep looking for dupes! Here are two bronze lip gloss dupes for Benefit “Hoola.” The one on the left is bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie in “Rulebreaker.” I’m not usually a huge gloss fan, but this gloss has a pepperminty, cooling sensation that makes me a convert! (Note: BareMinerals is owned by Shiseido (not CF), but they maintain cruelty free practices. Read more about our stance on that here.) If that doesn’t work for you, try the new amber-toned Senna lip gloss in “Sunstone.” Senna is completely independent and cruelty free.

Kim – try Tarte Lights, Camera, Splashes – a good cruelty free, waterproof mascara. I have no idea what Clinique Raspberry Glace looks like, but maybe a reader can help out!

From benefit’s site: ( http://www.benefitcosmetics.com/help/faq#faq-7 )
“Benefit does not test our cosmetic products on animals and we require our raw material suppliers to provide safety information based on scientifically accepted alternative testing methods. It is nearly impossible for any cosmetic company to certify that all new and existing ingredients incorporated into products have never been tested on animals as part of the safety research and certification process. Benefit selects high quality raw materials with well-established safety records and uses an extensive ingredient database. Benefit is committed to maintaining the highest standards of human safety while eliminating the need for testing on animals.”
To me it seems like they’re sort of side stepping around the issue they do claim to make attempts at using alternative testing methods.

Forgot to add that Benefit is sold in China so they are required to test anything sold in China on animals. So even if the cosmetics you are buying in your country are not tested on animals, there is still animal testing going on for their Chinese version/line.

Hi Jackie – Benefit is NOT cruelty free. That’s why we’re giving you dupes so you can avoid it. 🙂

Tarte Lights Camera Splashes (and the non-waterproof version Lashes) are my FAVORITE mascaras. I used to use a NYX lipgloss I believe was similar to Clinique Raspberry but I’m not sure if they still make it.
