Oh how I love coral and peachy-orangey makeup! There’s a shade that works with just about every skin tone. Even though coral immediately brings to mind images of summer music festivals, pool parties and nights on the beach, you can wear it any time of the year (and I do!). Lips can go from a pale, nude, peachy-pink to a bright, check-me-out coral red. Blush can be a a girly, peach/pink, a bronze earth tone or a bright pop of orange.
My 5-minute summer coral look:
- It Cosmetics Celebration Foundation in Fair – I love this mineral powder foundation because it has an SPF and doesn’t make me break out. It gives good coverage, but does look a bit powdery when my skin is on the dry side. My skin is hardly ever on the dry side, so it’s not usually an issue for me. It has anti-aging ingredients – including hydrolyzed collagen, peptides, antioxidants, grape seed oil, olive oil, hyaluronic acid, rose, aloe, niacin, silk, and vitamins A, C, and E (not vegan).
- Lip Tar in Annika – Everyone loves Lip Tars. I’m in love with this bright coral shade that has major staying power!
- Aqualillies for Tarte palette – This is a really great palette – you can do an everyday look, nighttime look (go heavier with the dark brown shadow) or use the fun turquoise eyeshadow for a fun, Summer look. In the pic above, I’m wearing Captivating blush, Barefoot shadow all over the lid, Hammock shadow as a smoked liner
Here are some of my favorite coral and peach makeup and nail shades:
Red Apple Lipstick is cruelty-free, gluten-free, paraben-free and allergen-free. The swatch at the top is Beach Peach – a great, shimmery, sheer peach. And the bottom swatch is New York, a bronzey orange, nude shade. I really like Red Apple Lipstick’s website – they actually show the shades on real people – and on several skin tones! So important when you’re buying makeup online!
I had never tried Inglot Cosmetics before, but I recently received their newest Nail Enamels to try. I’m smitten with these warm colors. Pictured above is 383 (okay not the most creative name…). I love it and I can’t stop looking at my nails! The photo above is a bit washed out, but the paradoxically muted, yet bright orange shade actually makes my skin looks more tan than it is. I can’t wait to try it with my self tanner – I’m sure it will REALLY pop!

I love Besame Cosmetics’ lipsticks in Carmine and Coral – Carmine is a bright shout of orange and Coral is considerably more demure. Love ’em both. They work perfectly as a cream blush, too! Now that I’ve seen the Aqualilllies palette from Tarte I may have to get it, too.

So Tarte is still cruelty free?

Hi Jen,
I recently discovered your site. I’m always on the look out for nice but inexpensive cruelty free beauty products. I just found a gem in the Flower line by Drew Barrymore. The creme blush in the shade “Peach Blossom” gives a very lovely peachy-pink glow and the staying power is pretty great!
Thanks for the blog, by the way! Glad people out there care about animal cruelty.

Beach Peach was one of my favorite shades for summer. Red Apple Lipstick came out with some awesome coral lipsticks this summer though.
