Spring 2015 Nail Trends
Nails are definitely seeing some love in 2015. The Spring nail trends this year are extremely varied, so odds are, you’ll have an easy time finding something you like. Much like makeup trends, simple and minimal seem to be front and center. However, flamboyant is a close second.
Short And Well Shaped
The one trend that seems to unite all of 2015’s major nail trends is length and shaping. Forget about trying to maintain longer nails. Short nails that come just to the fingertip are perfect. Of course, you can’t forget about shaping. Rounded and a slightly squared off oval are the two most prominent shapes this year. A less common, yet still popular shape is almond, though nails should be slightly longer for this style.
Negative Space
You don’t have to paint your whole nail this year to be in style. Negative space nail art requires you to make designs by only painting part of your nail. For instance, a slanted stripe design might leave the center of your nail bare with colorful stripes above and below. Get creative with this one by using multiple colors and leaving the nail bare in different places. Half moon nails are also popular – a throwback to another era!
Glitter And Metallic Nails
Glitter started making it’s way to the front in 2014, but it’s really found its place in 2015. It doesn’t matter what color of glittery polish you use. The idea is to make nails shine. If glitter isn’t your thing, metallic shades are just as popular. They add shimmer and shine without the aggravation of removing glitter polish.
Haphazard Painting
Side streaks, messy polish, marbled nails and random patterns on every nail are huge on the runways. Basically, many of those mistakes you try to fix are actually in style this year. Get creative and be a little messy. For 2015, perfect nails aren’t a requirement. It’s okay to be more natural and funky.
Neutral Shades
While vibrant reds and bold, matte colors are popular, neutral nail shades are far more popular. The trend for 2015 seems to lean more towards nails that match any and everything. Light pinks, beige, white and even clear are all great choices. Of course, black is always an option too as it’s a shade the matches most anything. If you go with black, consider pairing it with white for a bolder look.
For Spring 2015, corals will be big. Choose a coral to suite your mood and skin tone – whether light and close to flesh tone or a bit brighter.
Nail trends are full of polar opposites in 2015. From bright and shiny to simple, neutral colors, it’s easy to find a trend that matches your style. Try them all or mix and match to create your own stylish nail trend. Remember – there are NO RULES – just inspiration!
