Thursdays with Cheeky Rox: How To Apply False Lashes
I’m a huge fan of false lashes. Falsies can transform any makeup look from natural to super glamorous in just a matter of moments, but you definitely have to know how to apply them. It took me a while to master the art of applying falsies but now I can pop them on super quickly and be good to go. I thought I’d share some of my tips and tricks on how I apply false lashes because it can be pretty tricky at first!
There are tons of false lashes on the market, but you want to look for a few key points to make your false lash experience as comfortable as possible. Before you start applying, try to find a false lash that is has a thin lash band. Lashes with thin bands are going to be the easiest to apply, so I always suggest this to beginners! A thin band allows the lashes to blend into the natural lash line more easily and they are more comfortable than a lash with a thick band. You also want to look at the shape of the false lashes. This is all about your personal preference and what you think suits your eye shape, but personally I like a false lash with a rounded shape. In the tutorial I’ll be using Ardell Wispies, which are a great cruelty-free, synthetic, rounded lash with a thin band. These are one of my favorite styles to wear and I love how comfortable they are.
The biggest tip I can give you when applying false lashes is to hold a hand-held mirror underneath your face. Once you’ve got your mirror underneath your face, you can see your natural lash line clearly and just lower the false lashes down onto your lash line. When I discovered this tip, my whole world changed. Suddenly, I was able to pop false lashes on in a flash!
