The Best Massage I’ve Ever Had

in Body, Faves, Misc on 04/06/12

I was invited to review Cienega Spa in Beverly Hills recently and honestly – it was the best massage I’ve EVER had. No joke. Ask for the massage therapist named “Seven.” He said his first name is Michael, but there are too many Michaels in this world, so he goes by Seven. 🙂

Cienega Spa is a little hard to find – it’s tucked away between two larger buildings – you can easily miss it driving by. But, there’s parking in the back (yay!) and although it doesn’t look like much from the outside, it’s BEAUTIFUL on the inside.

There are candles lining the dim hallway that leads to the treatment rooms. The rooms are nicely appointed, warm and cozy. My massage therapist chose a mix of soothing songs that sounded like they were from a fairy tale movie soundtrack. Sounds weird, but it was totally working for me.

He also added hot stone therapy and aromatherapy to the massage. The aromatherapy was nice, but not totally necessary for me. The hot stones on the other hand – YES! They were large pyramid-shaped stones (I think – because I had my eyes closed the whole time!) that were warmed in oil and rubbed on tense parts of my back, arms, legs, etc. I’ve had stones used before, but this was different – and definitely worth the $35 add-on charge.

The massage itself was wonderful. Seven seemed to know the exact pressure and areas that needed attention. He also asked if the pressure was okay – giving me the chance to adjust it. After the massage was over, I wanted to drift off to sleep and stay there all night. I’ve really never had a massage that has wowed me like this one has, and I’ve had a lot of massages (due to my headaches and back pain). So, if you live in, or are visiting the LA area, definitely give Cienega Spa a try.

Cienega Spa also does painless laser hair removal, acupuncture, facials and body firming.

Be sure to check out the owner’s birthday celebration next week. Massages for $52 (regular price is $130+)!

    Look fabulous, thanks for sharing.

The last massage I had was a tortuous thai massage I literally thought I was going to break apart.
