Everyone knows Burke Williams is one of the best spas in SoCal, but I never thought of them as a place for scrubs. I mostly think of massages and facials. Turns out, even though they don’t have a “wet area” for scrubs, they can do a really nice scrub add-on when you book a massage.
I was recently treated to a massage with scrub at the Burke Williams West Hollywood location.
They call the scrub a Detox Enhancement: “Help your body eliminate toxins and restore a natural balance. Himalayan salt exfoliates the skin and detoxifies the body in conjunction with our new detoxifying aromatherapy blend of juniper, cypress, ginger, fennel and lavender.”
It’s a gentle scrub that the massage therapist can do without needing to hose you down (LOL)! He/she uses a great-smelling salt scrub mixed with the massage oil mentioned above. The massage is normal, but you are kind of getting a scrub, back facial and massage in one! After the massage, I was instructed to go hang out in the wet sauna for 10 minutes and then rinse off. No problem! You don’t have to tell me twice to get in the sauna! I also used the jacuzzi and cold misting room. So relaxing. And at 10 am on a Saturday, I pretty much had the place to myself! I felt like a queen!
Afterward, my skin was soft and I felt relaxed and rejuvenated.
Note: Burke Williams uses their own line of cruelty free skincare products – H2V, as well as other cruelty free products. They do use OPI for nails (which is not cruelty free), but hopefully they will change that policy soon and use a cruelty free line such as Zoya, NCLA or Chrome. All of the other products they use on customers and sell in their shops are cruelty free.
