Guest post by celebrity makeup artist, Phoebe Dawson
As a makeup artist working with actors, celebrities, musicians and various artists who are on camera and in the public eye, it is very important that I have the best products on the market to work with to make sure my clients look and feel amazing!
I love to use cruelty free products whenever I can. I am also vegan and highly support anything that’s environment and vegan friendly!! 🙂
So today I am going to talk about some of my favorite eco-friendly products that I love and use often on my clients & myself. I could list many more, but today I will just stick with 11…enjoy! 🙂
1.) Moroccan Oil– I love this oil – it’s light and a great hair treatment! I put it on after styling hair – you just run a small amount of oil from mid lengths to ends. (You don’t want to put Moroccan Oil on your roots – it will make them oily) And remember, a little goes a long way! Ive seen many celebrity hairstylist use this and rave about it! It doesn’t weigh hair down and gives hair a healthy shine.
2.) Tarte Lip Surge Lip Stains– These are so easy to use and give a nice light, natural finish and no sticky lips. Just roll these on and you’re good to go. They are quite moisturizing and won’t dry out your lips.
3.) Elf Vegan Brushes– I have the 11 Piece Brush Collection. These brushes are great, super soft & perfect for traveling. They come in a zipped up case, and I love that they are all black. They are really affordable and so nice and soft. I definitely recommend this brush set!
4.) Elf Mineral Pigments– These pigments are beautiful, really easy to blend, richly pigmented and they last all day without creasing! I have the pigments in Elegant & Confident. Elegant is an awesome color to get, I use it all the time as an eye shadow base and to highlight under brows. Also they are only $3 – a steal!
5.) OCC Lip Tars & Pigments– These lip tars are insane! The color is so intense and pretty thick so it really stands out. They will last you a long time! I love them. Also the pigments are beautiful, strong, easy to blend, with many great colors to choose from. Plus, you can mix them in with your lip gloss to add come color or mix with water to create a stunning cream shadow.
6.) Lucas Papaw Ointment– This stuff is a miracle product! I cant find it in the US, but you can buy it online. You can use it for so many things: dry lips, hands, cuticles, nails, hair, stretch marks, cuts, bruises, burns, pimples, sunburn, dry skin anywhere on your body, dry scalp (you can rub into your scalp then wash out the next morning). It is made in Australia from pure Papaws that help clean out infectious wastes & clean wounds.
7.) Alba Aloe & Green Tea Moisturizer– I use this on my skin EVERY DAY and a lot on clients. It’s a lightweight, all-natural moisturizer that is oil-free. It’s very reasonably priced (about $18) and you can buy it from Whole Foods & Trader Joes! With ingredients like mango, shea butter, grapefruit extract & green tea, it smells so good & feels refreshing. Makeup glides beautifully on top of this moisturizer.
8.) Pacifica Solid Perfumes– Natual Yummy Solid Perfumes! They smell so good! They have delicious flavors like Bali Lime Papaya, Mango Grapefruit, Ruby Guava, French Lilac, Island Vanilla, Mexican Cocoa and more. Made with organic soy and coconut wax, they last for ages, smell like heaven and come in these mini vintage-looking containers that you can take everywhere. They are perfect for pressies too! I keep one in my purse at all times!
9.) Duwop Crush Heavy Metal Eyeshadow Trio in 18 Carat– These colors are so nicely pigmented, creamy & metallic, and they look so beautiful on! They look especially amazing on dark skin tones. Very easy to blend. Also the are talc, paraben, sulfate & chemical free which makes them even more awesome! I love the packaging too – it’s so cute!
10.) Inglot Lipgloss Pots– This is one of my favorite lip glosses EVER! and I have tried many! These smell amazing! And when I put these on clients I always have to tell them not to eat it! They are very moisturizing & glossy, not sticky, paraben-free, have high color, have really cute packaging, and some of the pots come with a solid color on half then a gloss on the other which is very handy! Inglot is a Polish brand and they have just come to America! I first found them in Australia and stocked up! They are very affordable. I also absolutely LOVE their other glosses & lipsticks which are really creamy and moisturizing! I can’t even explain how amazing these lip glosses smell – you just have to try them out! Actually I could rave about many products from Inglot!
11.) Stila Convertible Color Cream Blush– These are nice and sheer, moisturizing & creamy. They are easy to blend into cheeks and really freshen up your face. I use these all the time. My favorite color is Petunia. It’s the cutest little compact and the colors are beautiful. You can apply this with finger, a brush or sponge. They can also be used on lips.

Thanks for a really great list. I wanted to ask if you know whether the other products in the Moroccan oil hair range are also cruelty free? I recently bought the one you’ve listed because it had the bunny symbol, but when I looked at some of their other products, not all of them had the bunny symbol. I’d love to find out for sure! Any info you have to shed light on this would be fantastic 🙂
