DERMAdoctor is one of my favorite cruelty free skincare brands. I was interested in their Med e Tate “injection-free medicated hyperhidrosis wipes.” Basically these are individually-packaged antiperspirant towelettes. (Hyperhidrosis is a fancy word for excessive sweating.)
The active ingredient is similar to other high-powered antiperspirants (19% aluminum zirconium tetrachlorohydrex glycine), but the wipes also include GABA (helps the body resist sweating), a peptide that mimics Temple Viper venom (!), portulaca (potassium-rich ion source from a West African flower), gynostemma and ginseng.
Supposedly you can use this product on your face to resist sweating and humidity. It is also said to help temporarily minimize small wrinkles. I’m going to be honest – I’m a little scared to put deodorant on my face. But, I did try it out on other body parts and it worked really well.
It’s a tiny bit sticky until it absorbs. You can use it on feet, thighs, under breasts, under arms, etc. And, what I really like is that it’s super portable, so you can throw a couple wipes in your gym bag or purse for those “Oops I forgot to put on deodorant” times.
My Beauty Bunny Scorecard (5 is the best):
- Packaging – 4/5 (individual wipes are super convenient for travel, but not as convenient for everyday use)
- Absorption – 4/5 (no grease factor at all; slightly sticky until absorbs)
- Value – 4/5
- Scent – 5/5 (light, fresh scent)
- Overall – 3.5/5
