DermaDoctor Photodynamic Therapy review by Vicki D., AKA “the Mature Bunny.” A cruelty-free favorite!
I was recently asked to review DERMAdoctor Photodynamic Therapy which is described as a sunlight-activated laser lotion w/spf 30.
It uses the UV (red portion) of the sun spectrum to act like a LED red laser light. This is supposed to help with lines, wrinkles, redness, dryness, age spots, elasticity – everything we want!
In-office lasers, IPL (intense pulsed light) and other light treatments, used to help build collagen and elastin, are expensive, inconvenient and require a series of doctor’s visits and maintenance sessions. At-home red light devices are costly, difficult to remember to use as well as time consuming. DERMAdoctor Photodynamic Therapy is clinically proven to restore skin firmness, radiance, tone, elasticity and reduce the appearance of redness, age spots, discoloration, pore size, fine lines and wrinkles.
Being naturally skeptical, I first tried it only on my left hand, using my regular sunscreen moisturizer on my right. After 2 weeks, I had to stop the experiment. There was so much improvement on my left hand, that I had to start using it on my face, neck and other hand right away!
My left hand was very noticeably brighter and smoother and I definitely want that effect on my face and neck. So many beauty products don’t deliver, but this one definitely does. According to the manufacturer, you don’t have to sit in the sun for it to work (just go about your daily business outside or sit by a light). I routinely do a lot of work and play outside in the sun, so I don’t know if that had any effect. Although it’s a bit pricey ($85 on their website) I will have to continue to use it – the results were that great!
This product definitely deserves a cruelty-free favorite award!
