At My Beauty Bunny, we usually talk about beauty products, but there are plenty of reasons to find a cruelty-free, eco-friendly line of home cleaning products as well.
I found out about Ecostore from another beauty blogger, and their tagline is “No Nasty Chemicals” so I knew I had to try them out.
Ecostore does carry beauty products, so of course I had to try them out. Their coconut oil soap is a mild cleanser that is safe for all skin types. I should point out that it does contain cow’s milk, so it’s not for vegans. They also carry a super mild baby soap, and soaps made with vanilla, lemongrass, manuka honey and kelp.
The Pure Oxygen Whitener is a bleach-alternative that you add to your laundry to brighten clothes without harsh, skin-irritating chemicals. The ingredients are all natural:
- Carbonates (simple mineral salts)
- Sodium percarbonate (oxygen producing whitener)
- Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda)
- Citrates (from citrus)
- Highly biodegradable surfactant
- Natural citrus oil
I must warn you that this is not going to be exactly like bleach – it’s a mild brightener – but not as harsh as bleach and so not quite as effective. It’s less likely to stain clothes however, and it’s safe for you and your little ones.
I would definitely like to try more products from this company – they have a lot of good stuff. They even have cruelty-free pet shampoo and conditioner. No toxic chemicals for your furry friends!

I just wonder how eco-friendly is it to buy eco-products that are made over seas?

Hi,
I think it depends on the certifications. For example, There is Fair Trade Certification; There is eco-cert and there is organic. Additionally, the company's reputation. Just because it comes from here in the USA, doesn't mean it is truly eco. I have resources on my website, http://www.GlennIsGreen.com. I think you can also find more on the Green America Website.
