Too Faced La Matte Color Drenched Matte Lipstick
Too Faced never lets me down! There’s always something new and adorable from Jerrod Blandino, Jeremy Johnson and crew (all huge animal lovers BTW)! Too Faced has joined the matte lipstick trend with TEN new matte lipsticks. The new La Matte lipsticks are super pigmented, and extremely long lasting. They even leave a bit of a stain on your lips. The best part though? They don’t dry out your lips like some of the liquid, cheap-o brands that people are buying en masse. Lotus Flower extract and waxes are added to soften and hydrate your lips without reducing the staying power.
The new La Matte lipsticks come in ten shades:
- As If (pink lemonade)
- Troublemaker (hot pink)
- The New Black (orange/coral)
- Hey Gurrl (deep rose)
- Bachelorette (watermelon pink)
- Sorry, Not Sorry (peachy nude)
- Rebel Heart (cool toned red)
- Pitch Perfect (fuchsia berry)
- Maneater (deep plum)
- When In Doubt (not pictured – cool beige)
The formula is amazing – the lipstick glides on like velvet – super soft. You only need one stroke because they are so highly pigmented. The shades are bright – I think the most wearable one for me is “Sorry, Not Sorry” or “When In Doubt” (although I haven’t tried that one yet). I know some of you are going to go NUTS for these bright colors, but I do wish they’d come out with some shades more similar to the Melted lipsticks or the Chocolate Melted line. I’m just a little too pale to pull some of these off, but I know my brightly colored fair-skinned friend, Phyrra, will be rocking all of these shades!
The staying power is great. Mine lasted through a meal. The staying power is not as intense as some of those cheaper mattes I mentioned (the ones that come in tubes and start out as liquids – you know what I’m talking about). However, I can’t wear those because they make my lips peel off and hurt, and I get lizard lips immediately. I know many women who refuse to wear those OTHER kinds of mattes because lipstick should stay for the day – but it shouldn’t be that permanent!
