So here I am trying to be a nice and sweet and Too Faced Cosmetics comes out with this Rock N Roll Palette to make me feel like a complete badass. If the packaging isn’t enough to make you want to pick it up and rock out with the best of them then maybe this will, the palette has seven, yes, seven brand new shades so if you were already wondering if you needed this palette that should be another coin into the “buy it side”. The shadow formulas include two mattes, three weightless sparkles and four metallic shimmer finishes. Of course per usual this palette comes with a step-by-step application instructions that show you how to create awesome looks using every color.
I swatched all of the shades and the lighter colors seen on the left of the palette barely showed up on my skin which is something that I’ve noticed to be a pattern with Too Faced Palettes. I understand that these shades are meant to be highlights but sometimes they barely show up on even the palest of complexions. The
swatches below are all done without a primer. What I love about this palette is that all the remaining shades are deep and dark enough to make the perfect smokey eye. I’m already making plans for what I want to do with Glam Rock, which is a slate grey with flecks of gold seen throughout.
Though the palette came with three predesigned looks I decided to just free will it and choose colors to create my own look. My eyes were automatically drawn to Punk and Rap so I decided to try this new “halo” technique that I learned during a makeup class to create my eye look. I did this look without a Primer and I was kicking myself afterwards because I know the color payoff would have been amazing if I’d used one. To start off I lined my eyes with a Black liner, both top and bottom lash lines, then I smudged the line out. I then did the same thing with the color Punk that I applied to my lid. Next, I followed up by applying the color Rap to my Crease. I also applied this to my lower lash line blending it in with Punk . To my Brow Bone I applied New Romantic, though the color is very soft and barely shows on my skin.
The Too Faced Rock N Roll Palette retails for $36 and can be purchased at TooFaced.com or Ulta.
