When I finally got the opportunity to try out an eyeshadow palette from the raved about Too Faced Cosmetics brand, I could hardly contain my excitement. I have been an avid consumer of Too Faced products, thanks to the high quality and cruelty-free promise of the brand. I received the Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar eye shadow palette, made of 100% real cocoa powder, and I think I may have fallen in love.
This product contains sixteen shades, ranging from pretty neutrals to dark, bold tones. The moment you open up the palette, you are greeted with the deliciously sweet scent of cocoa powder that lingers throughout your makeup application. What I found most unique about this product is that I did not need to apply an eyeshadow base beforehand, which allowed me to skip a step in my makeup routine. I did not experience and creasing or smudging with these shadows and the colors blend very well with one another.
The eyeshadow formula is enriched with antioxidant-rich ingredients, so you can feel good while you look good. The color scheme of the palette is diverse – perfect for using when searching for a daytime look or a night out on the town. Because my skin tone is rather fair, especially when I haven’t been basking in the sun, a few of the shades are less noticeable on my eyelids (e.g. Coconut Crème, Nougat). This being said, I typically opt for the darker shades that accentuate my blue eyes and lighter skin. My absolute favorite colors in this palette are Cocoa Chili (a dark brown with gold accents) and Peanut Butter (a matte auburn), which are wonderfully complimentary of one another when used together.
After using the Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar palette for a few weeks, I have officially added it to my collection of must-haves and my personal holy grail of eye shadows. The healthy ingredients, decadent aroma and beautiful range of shades make this product one to put at the top of your list.
