As you may know, I have recently become obsessed with self-tanner. I was always skeptical and never had a problem being pale until I realized two things:
- Tans make you look thinner.
- Tans cover up cellulite and blemishes.
Okay, now that I’m on board with the cruelty free self-tanner, I decided to try Flawless Self Tan Liquid from Fake Bake. Here’s why I love it:
- It comes with an application mitt that is great for getting an even color.
- There is almost no stinky DHA smell! Just a light tropical, “beachy” scent.
- There is a lot of guide color to show you where you’ve applied product (so you don’t leave streaks).
- The color is a nice, golden brown – not too light and not too dark.
The best way to put on self-tanner is to apply at night (exfoliate and shave the night before) and leave it on until morning. Now, if you see streaks in the morning, don’t worry – that is most likely the guide color, which will wash off in the shower. I didn’t have any problems with the guide color getting on my clothes or furniture – it absorbed pretty much instantly. But, if it does get on your clothes, no need to worry – the organic color pigments will wash right out.
I even used this on my boyfriend and it looked great! Note: make sure to exfoliate your man before you let him use this. For some reason, (most) men do not feel the need to exfoliate regularly. Fake Bake also offers “Man Tools” so your guy can feel like he’s getting a manly tan. 😀

I believe they were on PETA’s list but now I don’t see them on the DO or DON’T list. Their rep assured me that they were cruelty free, but there’s so much misinformation out there, and so many companies are jumping ship to sell in China – I don’t know anymore! if you find any evidence that they are NOT cruelty free, can you please send it to me?
