Stats:
According to a U.S. government report, “Americans work longer hours than nearly anyone in the developed world—even the Japanese. For many professionals, the 40-hour workweek is history. Sixty-to eighty-hour workweeks are now the norm.”
The Los Angeles Times reported that Americans have fewer close friends than they did 19 years ago. Longer hours, lengthier commutes and the substitution of online “friends” verses real-life connections contribute to the breakdown of actual social networks.

Wow, lol, not trying to sound snarky, but I thought more people in the USA weren’t working anymore (unemployed), or else getting their hours cut (i.e. furloughs, etc.); I don’t think this is an accurate trend at all that Americans work that much. Some may, but due to the economy it’s not that way at all any longer.
