I’m excited to announce my partnership with HP and Meghan Trainor! Collectively and HP sent me an HP x360 to help me with my cruelty free blogging work!
The goal of My Beauty Bunny has always been to share cruelty free makeup, skin care, hair care, nail polish, perfume, jewelry and fashion pieces that are animal friendly. I want people to know that buying cruelty free fashion and beauty products can be easy and fun. To that end, I have been writing, editing, taking photos, fiddling with lighting, editing photos, designing and redesigning my website, adding plug ins, removing plug ins, having melt downs when my site goes down, attending events, working with writers, working with PR companies, working with brands, staying up at night worrying if I have a post ready for the next day, and generally pouring blood, sweat and tears into this blog for almost 6 years!
If there’s anything important I can recommend for a new blogger, it’s technology. I use a laptop, dslr camera, smart phone, and several lights, tents, backgrounds, etc. When HP sent me their HP x360, I was excited to try this new piece of Windows technology to further my work. There are four modes of the HP x360: Laptop, Tablet, Tent, and Stand. It’s like having a laptop that I can bring to coffee shops while I work, or to events where I need to snap photos. It’s also like having a tablet because the screen rotates 360 degrees, so if you don’t need the keyboard, you can use the touch screen. It even has BeatsAudio, so I can listen to music while I work (it helps with stress – trust me!).
Here are my four tips for blogging about what you love (in my case – beauty without animal testing)!
1. I use my portable devices to keep up with the latest cruelty free beauty and fashion brands, as well as brands that are newly cruelty free or newly NOT cruelty free! I am always on my devices to keep track of emails from readers (thank you!), fellow bloggers and organizations who tip me off to changes in the cruelty free world. As a busy woman (blogging is not my day job – social media management is!), I have to read when I have time. Sometimes that’s in an Uber car on the way to an event, or in my jammies in bed. Or (less frequently I’m afraid), by a pool or the beach when I’m on vacation! In these pics, I actually brought my HP x360 to the salon with me!
2. I use the cameras on my portable devices at beauty events or to snap photos of products when I’m out and about. I can’t always lug my Canon around with me, so my HP x360 does double-duty as a laptop and camera!
3. Online shopping! Many times I find great cruelty free products on Pinterest, eBay, Etsy or online beauty and fashion retail shops. I often browse when I have time, and save the products to my Pinterest wish lists to buy later (and then share with you guys!).
4. Getting social! I use my HP x360 to share My Beauty Bunny posts, as well as adoptable animals. I am on the board for Los Angeles nonprofit, LA Love & Leashes, a wonderful “shelter shop” that helps animals from the local shelters find homes. None of the animals at the LA Love & Leashes facility are “saved” until they are adopted (volunteers transport them from the shelter to the more people-friendly mall location each day), so it’s important for me to share their stories and photos as far and wide as I can!
HP is on tour with Meghan Trainor! To #BendTheRules of documentaries, HP has teamed up with Meghan Trainor to create a fan generated documentary using the HP x360 Convertible PC.
This February & March, HP and Collectively are going on the road with Meghan Trainor to cover her entire US tour. From Vancouver to Nashville, we’ll have a camera crew and some of our favorite Meghan Trainor fans from her Lips Are Movin’ video to help bring the tour to life—check it out here!
The tour will come to life in two parts:
- “All About That Tour:” a behind-the-scenes look at key elements of Meghan’s tour—from hair & makeup to choreography. Hosted by her Lips Are Movin’ co- stars, including Barkley the Pom, Bri Emery, Chachi Gonzalez, and more!
- “Fan Generated Documentary:” HP is tapping Viners, YouTubers, and Instgrammers to capture footage of each Meghan Trainor tour stop and encourage their fans to share too! Then they’re stitching it all together to create a tour documentary featuring fan footage.
