How To: Braids For Wet hair (braids you can wear to the pool or beach)
Looking for cute hairstyles to wear to the beach or pool? Contrary to popular belief, it is possible to be both stylish and comfortable while swimming. Check out these cute wet braids, which can be worn all day and will hold up long after you get out of the water.
1. French braided top knot – this super easy style is great for a day at the beach or pool, since it stays intact for hours at a time. To achieve this style, follow 3 simple steps: French braid your hair straight back; pull your braided hair up into a ponytail; twist your hair around in a knot and secure in a topknot. Voila! You’re done.
2. Twisted ponytail – start by twisting the front of your hair (or bangs) back. Next, take the front sides of your hair and twist each side back, securing each side twist with a clear ponytail elastic. After this, create a topsy tail by flipping the tail upside down and pushing it through the hair created between your two twists of hair. Lastly, put the rest of your wet hair into a bun and secure.
3. A double Dutch braid is easy to create and will hold up nicely while splashing around in the water. To achieve this look, just braid each side of your head inside out, with each section going under instead of upwards. To finish it off, bring the 2 sides together in one braid at the back of your head and secure with an elastic band.
4. The Braided side bun is a great way to look chic and be comfortable at the pool. For this look, first you will need to create a deep side part. Next, begin creating an inside out French braid on the opposite side of your part, continuing until you reach your ear. Next, create a French braid on your other side, continuing until you reach the nape of your neck. After this, gather all of your hair into a ponytail nearest to the ear behind your first braid, making sure both braids are included in the ponytail. The last step in creating this style is to divide both ponytail ends into 2 sections. Braid both sections like normal, all the way to the ends of your hair. Then, one at a time, wrap your braids around the base of the elastic. Secure hair with bobby pins.
5. The side braid is the easiest for anyone to master. Just braid your hair to the side and secure with a small elastic. This allows you to lie down on a beach blanket or chair without a big bump in the back of your head! If you’re hair-challenged, this is the easiest one to accomplish!
Wet braided styles can be great for a day spent lounging at the pool of beach. Whichever of these styles you choose, just remember that wet hair is more vulnerable to breakage and damage, so be careful before you begin assembling your ‘do. Now get started creating an all new look that can be worn with your wet hair!
