Juliette Has a Gun – Vengeance Extreme!
I feel like 95% of the fragrance brands that you can find in stores are just NOT for me! Either they aren’t cruelty free or they smell super overpowering (like a unicorn exploded) – or both. I have a sensitive nose and particular tastes, and I’m very picky when it comes to scents.
I feel like Juliette Has a Gun really gets me. The French brand makes sexy scents in sexy packaging, that you can actually purchase at Sephora, Birchbox and other retailers in the US!
I’ve tried several scents, but Vengeance Extreme is by far my favorite. I like dark, earthy scents mixed with lighter scents like true rose and vanilla, and this one fulfills all of my scent fantasies! I recognize that it’s not for everyone. There is a Vengeance and a Vegeance Extreme (and of course I like the extreme version!). But there are lighter scents to please all noses.
Vengeance Extreme is described as, “a feminine chypre floral, it contains an unusually high concentration of rose, in addition to seductive vanilla and patchouli.” So I would describe it as sexy and girly at the same time, but with a dark edge. I love, love, love, love it! The packaging is amazing, and looks great on my nightstand.
The scent is not extremely long-lasting, but I find that to be the case with most perfumes that aren’t full of chemicals. Check out this article on how to make your fragrance last longer. I find that spraying a bit on my hair and clothing really helps.
There are a lot of animal-derived ingredients that were used in perfumes in your grandma’s day (well okay – if you were born in the ’90s – maybe your great-grandma’s day!). But nowadays the perfumes are made with synthetic ingredients that mimic animal scents. You can still find cruel ingredients out there, but it’s unlikely to be found in mainstream fragrances (mainly because of the cost), but for some companies, there is also a moral component.

So is Juliette Has A Gun a cruelty-free brand then?
