Hi Bunnies! I’m back with another fabulous mask that I need to update you guys on, the detoxifying charcoal face mask, Kaeng Raeng Cleansing Clay. I previously reviewed this mask back in March but since then the company has updated the formula and asked if I would like to try it out. I loved the results of the first mask so surely I was intrigued to find out what was different about this one.
For those of you not familiar with the brand, Kaeng Raeng specializes in natural beauty products to rid the skin and body of toxins to be a healthier, stronger version of itself. All their products are cruelty-free, vegan, and GMO-free and use good for you ingredients to purge and cleanse the skin to its best state possible. What I was even more pleased to find out was that all the skincare products from Kaeng Raeng are also safe for pregnant or nursing mamas out there so there is no need to worry about any ingredients you need to avoid. Perfect for me being six months pregnant with angry skin that loves to produce a pimple or two all the time.
So what do you need to know about the Kaeng Raeng Cleansing Clay? This charcoal and clay based mask will purge the skin of impurities while botanicals soothe and heal. Essential oils improve circulation bringing oxygen rich blood to the skin keeping it healthy and glowing. I love that it’s made with a base of aloe vera gel to moisturize as it sucks out the yuckies and witch hazel to work as an astringent at the same time. It’s a very thick, pitch black mask so plan to rinse and wipe off with a dark towel. Perfect for scaring husbands and other significant others! The new formulation is said to have a smoother finish than the previous one, and a longer shelf life which can be extended if you store the jar (tightly closed) in the fridge.
It’s recommended you use the mask about once per week, which is exactly what I’m doing now rather than before I was using it a couple times a week, and allow it to fully dry in about 10 minutes. As you wash the mask off you’ll feel a bit of exfoliation, nothing scary, and left with clean, soft skin. They also mention you may experience a little tingle while the mask is drying which I definitely felt the first time I used it, but with subsequent uses I didn’t really notice tingling at all. Super sensitive skin types might have a pink glow right after using the mask but it’ll go away! Promise!
After rinsing clean I follow with my favorite serum to lock in some moisture and keep my skin feeling balanced.
Overall I am still very pleased with the brand. Sometimes when a formula changes it ends up being for the worse, but not the case with Kaeng Raeng! They product high quality affordable luxury which c’mon bunnies, who doesn’t love treating themselves to something you’d pay and arm and a leg for in a spa setting?!
I highly urge you to check out their line if you feel your skin has been feeling dull, congested or just blah lately. The body scrub will make you legs smooth like buttah, this mask will dry up pimples, and I know their After glow serum helped saved the dry skin around my mouth when I was all stressed out from wedding planning months back!
