Anti-Aging Night Creme
Aging skin in inevitable, and starts with showing signs with fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin texture. While I don’t mind the thought of aging, I always hoped that I would age gracefully and wouldn’t see it happening until much, much later. I’m in my early thirties and years of sitting in the sun coupled with not always using the proper products in the past have me staring inches from the mirror examining how my skin is changing on a daily basis. When I was offered the chance to try LATHER AHA Facial Therapy Skin Renewing Treatment Creme, I jumped at the chance to see what it could do for me.
When considering an anti-aging skincare product it’s important to look at the ingredients and make sure you know what you’re getting into and how it may interact with your own skin. We all age, but our skin reacts differently from person to person and the key to preventing undesirable results in understanding what you are putting on your face.
LATHER AHA Facial Therapy Skin Renewing Treatment Creme is a night cream that retexturizes the skin to reveal fresher, younger skin from underneath. Gentle, yet effective, this creme works by removing dead skin cells and increase collagen production and skin elasticity–all things important for fighting fine lines. Let’s take a look at three key ingredients in this creme.
Lactic Acid is a popular AHA (alpha-hydroxy acid). Not only does it help gently lift dead skin cells off the top layer, but helps to moisturize the skin, fight acne by unclogging pores, and help speed up cell turnover. I have done an assortment of different peels on the skin much stronger than lactic acid, knowing this was a safe one that I could use a couple times a week without irritation.
Copper is one ingredient I learned about many years ago while working in a cosmetic laboratory, it is in many skincare products such anti-aging and even tanning products to protect the skin from further damage and reverse signs of aging.. This anti-aging metal promotes elastin (a component of the skin matrix) and collagen to plump the skin and resist wrinkle formation.
Borage Seed Oil is a great source of essential fatty acids for the skin keeping it supple and moisturized. It has anti-inflammatory properties and fights signs of dryness. Dry skin as we know accentuates aging skin and the wrinkles that come with it. Not only does it work to moisturize skin but firms the skin as well.
I have been using this night creme over the past month and have loved the results of this creme. At first I was applying it more often than recommended but luckily showed no negative effects on my skin, since realizing I have backed down to using it two nights out of the week and use a SPF in the AM because of its exfoliating properties. I generally focus on the forehead where I have some deep expression lines and my neck which has been neglected for quite sometime. I feel like I need less moisturizer in the morning, even after washing my face.
The consistency is thinner than I expected since it is in a tub, but easy to work with. Not to mention I absolutely LOVE the scent of jasmine in the product but want to give a heads up those who cannot handle scent in their facial products. jasmine oil works best for dry or irritated skin. It’s a beautiful scent and I love using this at night. I only wish I could apply it more often!
What’s great about LATHER is the packaging which can be recycled at any of their retail stores. and is made from recycled material! Best of all, you get 10% off your next purchase for doing so, so don’t toss the packaging until you plan to go back to the store!

i am always wary of any face products that come in jars. paula (paula’s choce) says that the ingredients in jars do not stay stable once the jar is opened. so i stay away from ALL products in jars (altho this product does interest me, but i stand by paula’s info)—what does everyone think about this…i would really be interested to know.
thanks

I think my main concern would be contamination. That’s why some people use a spatula to remove product before using it. I just wash my hands first and I haven’t had a problem. But LATHER does sell many products in different types of containers (just FYI).
