Veganlicious Beauty Mondays – Lavishea Lotion Bar Review
If My Beauty Bunny gave awards, I would nominate this neat little lotion for “Most Clever” and maybe even “Most Useful.” The story I heard was that this “Lotion Bar” was conceived by a pilot, whose hands suffered from the dry, sky-high air, but who was tired of having to carry tiny little sample-size bottles on board to conform to airline carry-on regulations. (You know, where you can only carry on a certain amount of liquid, even in your personal care products.) With the amount of time he spent in the air, those 1-ounce sample bottles probably didn’t last him more than a day or two. But the Lavishea lotion bar will last for weeks.
So as you see, it LOOKS like soap. It’s not soap. That’s just clever marketing. You don’t need water to use it. You just take the bar out of the package and rub it between your hands (or wherever else you want to moisturize.) Your own body heat melts the bar just enough to give you a perfectly-sized dose of cream. Whenever, wherever. Even at 35,000 feet.
I sampled the Coconut Lime Verbena and Peppermint scents, but there are a number of others available, such as Winterberry and Citrus Basil. There’s even one called Man Bar that sports a hulking bicep on the cover design haha! Now you know what your dad wants for Fathers’ Day! The bars are entirely vegan, and made only of organic shea butter, coconut oil, and a few oils and fragrances. Sweet.
They cream is surprisingly thick given its unique packaging. It was definitely comparable to a body butter or intense hand cream. It was really easy to use, on both my hands and legs. The moisture lasted throughout the day and, despite how portable the thing is, I didn’t really need to reapply.
This one is a must-have for travelers or people like me who love to try something fun and different. Order yours from their web store or find them on Amazon.
