Veganlicious Mondays: Lucy B Apothecary Review
I am 100% in love with Lucy B. Apothecary. This line of (mostly) perfumes was completely new to me, and I’m now mourning how sad and scent-less my life must have been until now. Maybe I’m still on an olfactory high from sniffing perfume, but these are some of the most beautiful scents I have ever sampled.
I don’t know how they make their fragrances so enticing, so intoxicating, so potent. They use Australian Bush Flower Essences and organic essential oils, to balance wearers’ energies and promote natural, holistic healing. Personally, I think there has to be a bit of Aussie-inspired magic going on here…
The first fragrance I came in contact with was Peony Rose and Mandarin Musk. (Don’t worry about the musk – all of Lucy B.’s products are vegetarian and the large majority are also vegan. All of the perfumes/roll-ons are vegan.) Joy, love, longing, all in a whiff… They make seven other scents such as Australian Wild Jasmin, Tropical Gardenia, and Green Fig and Vanilla Woods…the list goes on and is sure to include something that drives your nose wild.
I tried out an Eau de Parfum, a Perfume Roll-On Oil, and a Frangipani Shimmer Oil. (Don’t confuse the last one with their popular Frangipani Bronzing Oil, which I haven’t tried yet. I’m eyeing that one for my skin as it becomes increasingly pale in the winter.)
Eau de Parfum
I spritzed myself with the Royal Egyptian Amber & Honeysuckle scent, and it was beautiful on me. It’s warm, exotic, and comforting. It made me feel like I’d known this scent for years, even though it was brand new to me.
Perfume Roll-On Oil
This was the product that allowed me to enjoy the rose fragrance. I’m not going to lie, I walked around sniffing my wrist for most of the day and got some funny looks. These portable bottles are a great and affordable way to try out more than one scent if you can’t decide based on titles alone.
Frangipani Shimmer Oil
I know it’s hard to see in the picture, but this oil gives a very pretty shimmer. (If it were easy to see in the picture, it would probably be too much in person.) The scent, again, is heavenly. I loved spreading this on my decolletage and shoulders to catch the light. At the moment, it’s available at Anthropologie.
Everything I sampled was of exceptional quality. Lucy B. also offers creams, soaps, lip, and nail polishes. All products are cruelty free, but make sure to check which products are vegan (some of the lip glosses and hand creams are not.)
Coco Chanel said that “A woman who doesn’t wear perfume has no future.” That seems a bit extreme, but scent does have a huge impact on your mood and frame of mind. So spritz yourself with these cruelty free perfumes now, and thank me later.
Veganlicious Brand Status: Lucy B. Apothecary is a 100% vegetarian and mostly vegan brand. Ingredients are listed on each product page on their website for easy shopping. Their fragrances are vegan, but their hand creams are not.
