Skincare bunnies, listen up!  Elemis, the No 1 British Anti-Aging Skincare company, has opened my eyes to a perfect skincare line just for my stubborn skin. These cruelty-free products all revolve around nurturing dry, picky skin while resurfacing and chemically exfoliating dry patches. Did I mention they’re all anti-aging too– what more could you ask for?! My skin is a lovely mixture of extremely dry which I then overcompensate for with moisture which ends in a greasy, acne mess (with dry patches, of course)– YIPPIE! Enough self destructing though–let’s dive right into these skincare goodies.

To begin with cleansing, I received the new Nourishing Omega-Rich Cleansing Oil. At first, I was slightly skeptical because it was different from cleansing oils I’ve used in this past. This one was very thin and lightweight on the skin, so I wasn’t positive I was using it correctly to take makeup off. However,  after applying it to dry skin and wiping the excess away with a warm water on a washcloth, my makeup disappeared! I still felt the need to go in with another cleanse afterwards, but that could just be because of my anal-retentiveness that I have when it comes to cleansing my skin.

I was able to try out both the Balancing Lime Blossom Cleanser along with the Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Wash. I kept thinking I was going to like one more than the other but I simply can’t pick a winner. The Balancing Lime Blossom Cleanser is packed with Lime Blossom extracts along with lecithin which help naturally balance and repair the skin.  This is my new go-to morning cleanser, not only because of the calming and brightening effects, but also because the delicious citrus scent helps wake me up! I prefer to use the Resurfacing wash at night because I really feel it removing any “gunk” (terrible word– sincerest apologies) and promoting cell turnover while I sleep with the galactoarabinan (extract from a tree proving a non-abrasive exfoliation). Although I feel this cleanser in action, my skin is never irritated or red after use.

Elemis Skincare

After cleansing comes my all time favorite part of any skincare routine– MOISTURIZING!  This is my fave because I am cursed with the driest skin known to mankind (it always blows my mind when people can skip moisturizer; I think my face would actually crack right off). The Cellular Skin Bliss Capsules are among my favorite products in this line. They are separated by day and night capsules that are great for traveling. You just pop one open at a time and apply directly to cleansed skin. I’m a huge fan of oils to bring out ultimate moisture in my skin so you already know I loved these bad boys. The nighttime scent was very calming and the daytime one has the most amazing, floral/citrus scent!

Following my daily oils, I have been applying the Hydra-Balance Day cream for about a month now. Balance is a key word here because I really can feel it being super hydrating but still completely soaking into my skin so I’m not left with a greasy mess. Containing hyaluronic acid, neroli, betaine, and meadowsweet, this cream is calming/soothing along with being extremely firming and hydrating– creating a perfect everyday moisturizer.

Elemis Skincare Masks

Now onto the stars of the show (my personal favorites): THE MASKS! I’m a mask fanatic–maybe a little too obsessed, so I know a good mask when I see one. The Dynamic Resurfacing Gel Mask is my FAVORITE product in the whole line. Similar to the Resurfacing Face Wash, this mask allows my skin to do a complete 180 in a matter of minutes. Using this at least twice a week has visibly changed my skin for the better. The patented Tri-Enzyme technology helps refine and smooth the skin’s surface (which you can feel with a slight tingle upon application). The Herbal Lavender Repair Mask is another fave, especially on those unfortunate days where I decide to have a field day and pop every pimple/bump/blackhead on my face. The lavender and thyme essential oil helps in calming and soothing damaged skin, leaving your face looking healthy and less mad at you than before a picking sesh!

I’m extremely impressed with all of the Elemis products and will continue to incorporate them in my skincare routine in hopes of successfully battling the skin cards I’ve been dealt. Taking care of your skin is so important to healthy looking, youthful complexion– with or without makeup!

Are you sure Elemis are cruelty free? I believe they sell in China.

I think the thing that is causing confusion for people around the ‘do they or do they not sell in China’ issue, is Hong Kong. Elemis do sell in Hong Kong – a legally separate entity, who do not have the same mandatory animal testing laws as mainland China. Elemis do not sell in mainland China. I hope that helps.
