Who knows where their lymph nodes are? If you think they are only in your neck (swelling up when you get a cold or virus), you’re wrong! They’re actually found all throughout your body, and they are a lot more important than you might think.
Lymph nodes are like your body’s drainage system. They pull all the bad stuff out of your blood stream and hold on to it until your body can naturally flush it away via the circulatory system. I also think of them like mini jail cells – they hold on to the bad guys until the body can determine if they are guilty or innocent. When they find the “bad guys” (AKA harmful organisms), they call in the cavalry (AKA lymphocytes or specialized white blood cells) to take care of business.
Lymph nodes also create antibodies that help your body recognize invaders. While they are making these antibodies, the “jails” can get full and that’s when they swell up (often when you’re fighting off an infection or taking a vaccine). My lymph nodes seem to be swollen most of the time – particularly noticeable in my underarm area. There could be a million reasons for this, but after seeing literally dozens of doctors and naturopaths, and being misdiagnosed with lyme disease, I don’t really know. The leaky gut theory makes a lot of sense (I get migraines and I’ve been popping ibuprofen like candy for years and years – I know – bad…), and I’ve been on a diet to help that. But, in the meantime, I still have swollen lymph nodes more often than not. And many of the medications I have tried for depression/anxiety have made me retain water like crazy.
So when GliSODin Skin Nutrients reached out to me, I was excited to try their Advanced Diuretic/Lymphatic Formula. The Advanced Diuretic/Lymphatic Formula was designed to assist lymph drainage and reduce swelling caused by fluid retention in the body. Containing ingredients such as burdock and artichoke, this formulation has purification properties that help to eliminate toxins. Acting as a “mini-cleanse,” the Advanced Diuretic/Lymphatic Formula helps clear congestion from the circulatory and lymphatic systems and can also alleviate excess water weight.
I really like this formula. First of all, no one should take diuretics ALL the time. They are meant to be used as a way to help your system clean it’s “jail” of the bad guys and water weight. But they can also decrease potassium if overused. So I have been using it off an on to help me on really bad days. I really notice a difference, and I don’t feel dehydrated. I do drink a lot of water when I take the formula to help flush things out. Overall, definitely a weapon I want to have in my arsenal!
GliSODin has several other formulas that look amazing for overall health and beauty. Follow them on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
Other things to try to help flush out those toxins? Lymphatic massage is number one on my list, but can be expensive. Be sure to go to someone who specializes in lymph massage – not just your average massage therapist or spa. You can also try dry brushing, near infrared light treatments (can sometimes detox me too quickly making me tired, headachey and blah, so go easy at first), and saunas (same thing – go easy if you’re sensitive like me).
Note: I’m not a medical professional and this is not medical advice. Please check with your doctor before starting any new supplement or medical routine.

I used to regularly have a lymph drainage massage. With autoimmune disease, the glands are often puffy and don’t drain well. My girl moved and it’s hard to find someone who can do it. This sounds like a great way to clear those clogged nodes. It’s so important to flush them out now and then.
