Marie Louise Cosmetics Cleansing Clear Gel Review

in Combination Skin, Dry Skin, Oily Skin on 05/26/10

Cruelty Free Marie Louise Cosmetics Cleansing Clear GelNot long ago, Jen #2 reviewed Dermalogica’s PreCleanse, an oil-based cleanser that removes dirt and impurities from your skin. As she explained, oils are nothing to fear if you have oily or combination skin. In fact, like dissolves like, so oil-based cleansers actually remove all the gook, and they do it without upsetting your natural moisture balance. If you strip your skin, your oil glands will go into overdrive – not good.

I recently tried Cleansing Clear Gel, a cruelty-free, oil-based cleanser by Marie Louise Cosmetics. This product is so different from other cleansers I’ve used because you actually apply it to dry skin! Just put a quarter-sized dollop in your hands, rub together, and then massage onto your face. Then add a little water to completely emulsify and either rinse or wipe clean with a washcloth or cotton pad. The “gel” turns into an oil on your face, and then when mixed with water, turns into a slightly foamy lather. It then rinses completely clean – no oily residue, leftover makeup or dirt left behind. I was impressed, because I like my face CLEAN and I absolutely cannot tolerate any kind of oily residue. If this product left a residue, there’s no way I’d review it. The Cleansing Clear Gel is perfect for dissolving mascara, eyeliner, eyebrow wax/color and all that other makeup that can be hard to remove.

Marie Louise Cosmetics uses deep sea mineral water in all of their skin care products. Unlike other skin care brands featuring deep-sea water, Marie Louise mastered the art of desalination without degrading the effectiveness of deep sea water minerals.

Here’s why deep sea water harvested by Marie Louise Cosmetics is so effective as a skin care ingredient:

  1. The water is free of planktons that may feed on nutritious minerals.
  2. Since few microorganisms and toxins can survive at this depth, harvesting deep-sea water here ensures the highest level of purity.
  3. Cooler temperatures preserve the nutrients, ensuring more minerals in the final product.

And, of course, Marie Louise Cosmetics are cruelty-free!

For the month of June, cruelty-free Marie Louise Cosmetics Cleansing Clear Gel is being sold for only $39, instead of its regular $51. But, for My Beauty Bunny readers, you get an additional discount – Cleansing Clear Gel for only $35. Just use code MYBBPROM upon checkout at www.marielouisecosmetics.com.
