Product Review – Rose Monsoon Hydrating Mist by Miessence

in Combination Skin, Dry Skin, Oily Skin on 04/30/09

PR Sample

I recently found this Australian company called Miessence that I’m pretty excited about.  They seem to be one of the few brands that is totally committed to healthy cosmetics – and ladies and gentleman, they do their homework!

The Miesscence (prounounced “my essence”) products are either USDA Certified Organic or Australian Certified Organic.  There are a lot of companies who use the term “organic” but are not certified organic.  The word “organic” is not regulated and has been frequently abused in the cosmetic industry (similar to the word “natural” which is on everything these days).  There are also a lot of “natural” ingredients (such as coconut oil) that can develop into nasty chemicals when processed in certain ways.  I’d encourage you to view the videos on their site to learn more about this.

The Miesscence rose monsoon hydrating mist that I have been using is made from the oil of 45 organic roses.

It’s a great refresher on a hot day or while working in a heated or air conditioned building.  I personally like to use it before putting on my daily moisturizer because moisturizers are more easily absorbed when your skin is moist.  It smells lovely and it’s also great for rehydrating your skin throughout the day.  I’m looking forward to trying more Miessence skin care products.  I’ve also heard their toothpaste is a big hit with naturopaths.  They also carry natural household products such as air fresheners and cleansers (under the name MiEnviron), and nutritional supplements (MiVitality).
