You probably know Mineral Fusion as a cruelty-free, all natural color cosmetics brand. Recently, we reviewed a selection of their makeup (check it out here). But did you know Mineral Fusion also makes skin, body, and hair care? Today, we’re exploring Mineral Fusion’s skincare with a look at their Mineral SPF 40 Facial Moisturizer and Age-Defying Treatment Serum.
Mineral Fusion calls their Mineral SPF 40 Facial Moisturizer the “ultimate anti-aging moisturizer” because it provides UVA/UVB protection along with peptides and antioxidants. This served as my facial sunscreen on a recent beach trip. The formula feels lightweight and hydrating, so it performed double duty – shielding my skin from harmful rays while helping avoid the dryness that too much sun can trigger. I liked how much more easily it absorbed than other sunscreens, so I ended up using this for sun protection over much of my neck and chest as well.
The Age-Defying Treatment Serum is a thin, silky formula packed with skin-beneficial ingredients. Like the Facial Moisturizer, it contains peptides that promote cell renewal and antioxidants to fight free radicals. Because it doesn’t contain SPF, it’s best as a nighttime treatment (unless you follow up with SPF). It claims to reduce wrinkles and increase skin’s firmness. While I can’t speak to its anti-aging properties, I can say that when I apply this before bed, my skin looks refreshed and hydrated in the morning. I know that my skin is receiving a dose of nourishment each time I use this serum.
Overall, if you’re looking for cruelty-free, natural skin care, Mineral Fusion is worth a try!

Does the sunscreen hurt when it gets in your eyes? I apparently have sensitive eyes and when I sweat at all most facial sunscreens get into my eyes and really hurt.

I would keep all sunscreens away from your eyes – they can run if you sweat. Try a powdered sunscreen in that area instead.
