NARS Christopher Kane Collection Review.
Sad update – June 2017 – NARS is no longer cruelty free – the company has decided to sell in China, a country that requires animal testing. Click here for details.
Feast your eyes on the latest collection of eye catching cosmetics from NARS, The Christopher Kane collection. This vivid, yet wearable collection of blushes, eye shadows, lip glosses and illuminating sticks feature neon shades that give just the perfect wash of color to any complexion. There was some serious anticipation building up for this set to arrive on my doorstep, and it took no less than a few minutes for me to rip open the package and test these babies out.
One product I was sent to try was the Duo Eyeshadow in Parallel Universe, which are best described as sparkly, iridescent pinks and purples. They look practically foil like in the pan and are absolutely gorgeous on. I tried both with and without eye shadow primer and liked both ways depending on what kind of day I was having. Going without primer allowed more of a sheer wash with some eye brightening while prepping with a primer gave a much fuller, rich shimmer on the eyelids. I am a total sucker for pink and purple shadows and love the versatility of the sheer to ultimate sparkle-ness of these shades.
The other product I tried was the Lip Gloss in Nucleus, noted as a seashell pink on their website. This gloss gave me the perfect natural lip color look with its super sheer muted pinkiness. The color in the tube is actually lighter than my own natural lip color but just fits me perfectly. Not to mention that the gloss is not sticky and feel cushiony on. I was pleasantly surprised that it lasted a few hours before disappearing off my lips, and makes me want to discover more colors of gloss to add to my collection.
If you have not seen the NARS – Christopher Kane Collection you must visit their website and torture yourself like I did before I got any of it. I’m thinking I need to nab all the lip glosses and maybe one of the illuminating sticks before they are sold out.

Is Nars still cruelty free? I read some things online that indicated that maybe they were not because they are selling in China? Any update would be appreciated because I love their stuff!

Yes, NARS is still cruelty free. If anyone has evidence that a brand is selling in China, please email Jen at jen@mybeautybunny.com – thanks!

Is NARS cruelty free? i thought it was owned by a bigger brand that did test?
chiefbunny says
Yes you are correct – it’s owned by a brand that tests, but NARS does not test.
