There is something about NARS Cosmetics that gets me giddy inside. It’s just one of those brands that continuously have wowed me for several years and always have me wanting more. When the opportunity arose to give a lipstick and blush a review, I jumped on it! I definitely want more NARS in my makeup collection and didn’t waste any time aswatchin’.
I usually wear rose/pink colored lipsticks ranging from sheer to opaque so when I finally tried NARS sheer lipstick in Liguria it was quite different! Liguria can best be described as a sheer nude – almost gold – and ALMOST tan color. It was quite nude for my lips as I usually try to punch up the color a bit, but this is perfect for a toned down weekend look. I swatched it pretty heavily on my arm for you guys to see the full color of it all, more than I would ever apply to my lips! The formula is moisturizing and went on smooth and produced just a hint of shine which is great for me because my lips cannot tolerate matte lipsticks. I have chronic dry lips and any matte formula sucks the moisture right out of them. So moisturizing lipsticks are my formula of choice.
Next, I tried NARS blush in Reckless. OMG, you guys…..THIS is one pretty blush. Reckless is a sheer pink opal blush with just a hint of glitter/shimmer. In the pan it looks peach in color with flecks of shimmer, but on my skin it has a pink tone to it. SO PRETTY! Because it is a lighter color, I definitely will be using this as more of a highlighter than a blush, but dang…I’m in love. This will definitely give you a perfect sunkissed glow when applied in the right places and I imagine would look absolutely gorgeous on darker skintones. In our experimentation, people with very pale skintones (like Jen) couldn’t see the color as well. Did I mention I was in love with this color? I’ve worn it several times since I got it and has made it into my mainstay makeup bag.
All in all, NARS constantly produces fantastic makeup and has me oogling their instagram for any sneak peeks. (Did you all see the 2015 Christopher Kane collection?!) Don’t get me started on the absolutely beautiful colors that collection has..that I MUST have in the near future.
