When Beauty Bunny editor, Jen, asked me to test drive a few products from Naturity, I was baffled after visiting its website and not seeing any traditional male products. After some looking around, however, I chose two body scrubs with appealing scents, Sweet Orange and Peppermint, and the Organic Diaper Balm for my little guy (see separate review).
Naturity’s body scrubs are made with essential oils, organic Demerara sugar, and organic sunflower seed oil—sounds edible.
The sweet orange and peppermint natural scents smell amazingly good. The health benefits of orange essential oil include anti-inflammatory properties. Peppermint oil contains menthol, which nourishes dull skin and improves oily skin. It also gave a nice cooling effect.
Demurral sugar is a traditional unrefined sugar, produced to have larger and crunchier crystals than granulated sugar. Some claim that it is too rough for a sugar scrub to be used head to toe, which is perhaps the case for softer female skin, but I found it to be just right, particularly for the soles of my feet.
Moisture-retaining sunflower seed oil helps provide a protective barrier resisting against skin infections and helps to soothe red, irritated skin. Both products contained just the right amount, leaving my skin hydrated, soft and radiant. I’ve tried other products containing too much oil, and it sits on top of my skin–leaving me looking like a glazed doughnut.
Naturity puts its money where its mouth is by using 99 to 100% certified organic ingredients. They employ socially and environmentally-friendly business practices by purchasing ingredients from USDA certified organic, sustainable suppliers. Its packaging is eco friendly, using glass and metal containers for products rather than plastic. Gift items are contained in bamboo, recycled paperboard boxes, or tin and filled with recycled paper shred. They don’t incorporate additional packaging and pretty boxes that create waste, and ship items with biodegradable packaging peanuts.
Naturity also invites its customers to recycle their product containers. For every five containers sent back to them, they send you a $15 gift certificate.
