Healthier Skin and No More Morning Allergies!
I used to wake up every morning with a sore throat, raspy voice, itchy eyes, headaches and a stuffy nose. Not anymore. I have made it a point to keep my bedroom clean, but living in Los Angeles means that can be very difficult. The air is dry (especially during the summer when we have the window units blasting), there’s smog, and the slat windows in our bedroom make it heard to keep dust out. I am from Louisiana where they say the humidity, although not fun, is good for your skin. The moisture supposedly keeps wrinkles at bay for a longer time. If that is true, then for the past 14 years, I’ve been living in the opposite of that climate – in smoggy, dry LA! Did I mention we also have two cats and a dog? So much for beauty sleep.
When the folks at Venta asked me if I wanted to try the Venta Airwasher, I wondered at first if they were psychic and knew I needed an air intervention! Of course, I said yes, and was stoked to receive the LW45 model. If you’ve never heard of Venta, let me fill you in. They are based in Germany, and have created a machine that is both an air purifier and a humidifier. There are no filters to change – the air is cleaned when particles of water trap dirt and dust. The Venta AirWashers use cold water evaporation, trapping allergens and irritants within the device. As air enters the machine, it collides with sheets of water. Air then passes through the Airwasher, leaving the harmful stuff behind. As an air purifier for dust and mold, the Venta Airwasher operates silently in the background emitting nothing but clean air at an ideal moisture level for optimal health.
The best way to understand how it works is to watch their video:
The Airwasher can never over-humidify so you don’t have to worry about extra mold from an overly humid environment. Being overly dry is not only bad for you, your kids’ and your pets’ respiratory systems, it’s also bad for antiques and musical instruments and wood floors. I had no idea!
When I first received the Venta Airwasher, I let it sit in the box for a few weeks. I had the idea that it would be difficult to set up, and I kept putting it off. When I finally opened it, I realized, there’s basically no work involved other than putting the two rotating disk stacks into the housing, filling it with tap water and water treatment additive, and then putting the top on. Then you just plug it in, and set the speed to 1, 2 or 3. That’s seriously it!
After using the air washer for about a month now, I have seen MAJOR improvements with my allergies. Like, I don’t want to live without this thing kinds of results! I am waking up feeling more rested, and less sickly, and I know the humidity is improving my skin and hair. I also love that I can put Venta aromatherapy essential oils into the water if I want my bedroom to instantly smell amazing. Read about the many benefits of clean, moist air here.
You don’t have to use the Venta in the bedroom. In fact, I’m considering buying one for the living room. The model I have (LW45) is the largest unit and treats rooms up to 800 square feet! The smallest unit treats rooms up to 200 square feet. All units come in either off-white or gray.
In addition to it being an amazing machine, it’s also eco-friendly. The large unit (LW45) uses less than 10 watts to clean up to 800 square feet! I actually like some background noise when I sleep, but the unit is very quiet for those who need quiet time. It’s very lightweight until you fill it with water, but even then I can still carry it into another room if needed.
The only cons are that you have to fill up the unit with water quite often. I think I’m doing this more frequently because the air in LA is so dry. If you live in a more humid climate, you may only have to do this once a week or even every two weeks. I am filling it every 2-3 days (and adding water additive every week or two). But, I’m also keeping it on 24/7. When the water runs out, it will shut off on its own. I keep a pitcher handy to fill it up every few days. It’s a small price to pay to feel good!
I received a complimentary air washer for the purposes of review, but I was not paid to say nice things! This is my honest opinion! Overall, I think this is an amazing product, and I highly recommend it. If you have any questions, let me know in the comments section below. I’ll do my best to answer them! If you want to try it, but are unsure, you can start with a 14 day free trial at www.venta-airwasher.com.

Sounds awesome! I got rid of the last one we had because it was so expensive to replace the filter and then it got impossible to find them. I’ll have to check the Venta Airwasher out.

I was in a market for a humidifer to help with my allergies and sinuses. I didn’t have a clue what to buy so I researched several models on Amazon and decided to try the venta airwasher. I am so glad I did!!
Ernest M. Flores says
I can tell you that it will definitely help with removal of spores in the air. As long as the area is not wet/moist this will help with allergies due to mold, mildew, airborne allergens including pollen. Excellent product!
Robert Loblaw says
Quality air filtration makes a huge difference – not just for those of us who suffer from allergies, asthma, COPD, and other respiratory problems – but for everyone. There are all kinds of pollutants circulating in the air of our homes and workplaces, so anything that can be done to improve the air quality indoors is most welcome. Sounds like a great product. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Barbara says
Really true Jen. This is by far the best air purifier I have ever used. Its so quiet that I often check the rollers to see if they are moving just so I know the unit is still on. Bought two and they are a lifesaver in the winter time.
Kevin says
