I’m the perfect example of “you can’t change a tiger’s stripes” or maybe it’s “a leopard can’t change his spots.”
Either way, I have certain preferences in lipsticks and even when I think I’m changing my stripes/spots, I never quite do. The perfect example of this are the two cruelty free Napoleon Perdis lipsticks I bought at his store in Hollywood. I didn’t try these on but I tested them on my hand and compared the two colors and I swear they were different. I knew that the tones were similar since I don’t buy dark lipsticks but I thought one was a peach and one was a pink. Now that I have them home though I realize the colors I picked are very similar but that doesn’t stop me from enjoying them both.
My two lipsticks are different formulas: Lip Patrol and DeVine Goddess. Lip Patrol is a long slim lipstick that is sheer and glossy. DeVine Goddess is a fuller true lipstick that is beautifully creamy.
Lip Patrol’s PRIVATE KISS is the top swatch in the picture. As you can hopefully see it is lighter, glossier and sheerer than DeVine Goddess. There’s a weightless feel to this lipstick that I like a lot for an everyday look. I like the shine and the way it glides on. What I’m not 100% crazy about is the fragrance but happily it dissipates very quickly. I notice the aroma when I open the tube but within 5 minutes it’s a non-issue for me.
If you like a fuller lipstick then DeVine Goddess is the one to choose. I bought this in HESS which is one of 16 shades available at Napoleon’s Website and at Ulta.
What happily surprised me about this beautiful lipstick is that it has no fragrance at all yet it’s enriched with herbal extracts and antioxidants. This lipstick is very creamy and the pigmentation on it is beautiful. As I mentioned before, it’s a fuller lipstick and more sophisticated looking when on. I also find it lasts well. Hess has a pink undertone while Passionate Kiss has the peach undertone.
Whichever style of lipstick you buy from Napoleon Perdis, I don’t think you’ll regret it. Both look and feel good and the color choices are beautiful.
