NYX Cosmic Metals Shadow Palette

Hello bunnies! I’m Cindy from Prime Beauty and I’m super excited to be writing this review for My Beauty Bunny. I’ve known Jennifer for years and she continues to provide me with inspiration every day. My Beauty Bunny is one of the original beauty blogs on the net and it just gets better and better so I’m very honored to be writing for her. Let’s get started!

Today I’m talking about the NYX Cosmetics Cosmic Metal Shadow Palette ($9.99). Inspired by the success of the brand’s Cosmic Metals Lip Creams, the palette features six versatile and edgy neutrals in tones of gold, plum, and mauve, all with rich, metallic color. These shadows are vivid, extremely pigmented and have a really pretty shimmery sheen. The key word here is “sheen” there is no chunky glitter, just a rich, luminous finish. This is a hidden treasure girls!

NYX Cosmic Metals Shadow Palette Review

These shadows don’t have names so I will try to describe them to you. All of these swatches are on bare skin without primer. These have incredible color payoff! Most of the shades are warm toned so if you are a cool toned beauty you might want to skip this particular palette (I hope NYX makes more)!

NYX Cosmic Metals Shadow Palette Review

#1 is a rosy gold – it is the only shade in the palette that has a stiffer texture, yet it still performs well.

#2 is a gorgeous bronze – one my favs in the palette

#3 is a lovely lavender taupe – beautiful, complex shade

#4 is a pretty pale pink – great for a soft, romantic look

#5 is a rich burgundy-gorgeous with tremendous payoff

#6 is a pretty champagne gold can also be used as a highlight

Performance from this palette is excellent. I always use an eyeshadow primer, so creasing is not an issue and there is absolutely NO fallout! The wear is great and the mix of shades lends some versatility to the palette. The shades are all complimentary and work well together. Use the lighter shades for a soft, romantic look and the deeper shades for a smoky look. The NYX Cosmic Metals Shadow Palette is a real winner! I have to admit, even this jaded beauty blogger is impressed by the quality and performance!

For this look, I applied #1 on the brow bone, #3 on the lid and under the lower lash line and #6 on the inner corner.

Here I wore #2 on the lid, #5 in the crease and #6 on the inner corner.

Along with the Cosmic Metals Shadow Palette, I picked up three Cosmic Metals Lip Creams, the product that started the line. #13 is a peachy gold shimmer that appears very pale on the lips. I don’t suggest using this alone unless you want to look like a 1960s throwback. It does however, look amazing layered over different lipstick shades. #16 is a really pretty pink rose and #15 is a beautiful rose gold. All of them will leave behind some glitter if you don’t use a good makeup remover. There are 17 shades in the line, so you are sure to find at least one or two you can’t live without and for $6.99 each, you can beat them!

Bottom Line: the NYX Cosmetics Cosmic Metal Shadow Palette rivals much higher-end brands in terms of quality and performance. The colors are gorgeous and very easy to work with, especially for a $10 palette! My only complaint is that I want more! A brown, blue, green, purple–ALL the colors!

I am so glad that I came across this review. I love the colors in the shadow palette but they reminded me of the shadows in the Maybelline 24k Nudes palette which I felt is very poor quality. I am glad the color payoff is good. I also enjoy seeing makeup on women over 35 as it seems we are forgotten until someone wants to pedal a wrinkle cream. lol

Wow! Those shades are amazing! I didn’t think I would be into metallic eyes but I love these colours. It looks like a very simple way to do a really standout look!

This palette does have beautiful shadows and they are so rich. It does sound like you are describing a high end line here. I haven’t tried any of the lip shades yet but definitely will. Thanks for a great review.

These colors and pigments look amazing! I love NYX, might have to take a look at this next time I go to fill my stock.
