What’s in that stuff?
When a couple of my cruelty-free beauty product owner friends, Lisa M. Rodgers and Kristin Fraser Cotte, began discussing ways to combat the misinformation and misconceptions floating around the cosmetics industry, something incredible and informative was created – Personal Care Truth. Personal Care Truth was developed to be a comprehensive, one-stop portal where consumers could find factual data about personal care products – from FDA regulations and legislation to specifics on ingredients and scientific data.
Personal Care Truth includes experts in the fields of personal care and cosmetics such as Paula Begoun (yep – the Cosmetics Cop!) to provide answers to consumers’ questions. The experts include researchers, chemists, writers, formulators, aromatherapists, and business leaders, among others. The vast knowledge and industry expertise these contributors provide enables Personal Care Truth to deliver reliable information based on scientific fact – not marketing fluff.
Personal Care Truth launched May 17, 2010 and the stats are phenomenal:
- 2,712 unique visitors
- 8,385 number of visits
- 108,771 page views
- 343,956 hits
