My must-have for summer shine? Jane Iredale PurePressed Powder. This lightweight mineral makeup comes in a convenient refillable compact and gives me the perfectly matte skin I want, without looking cakey or heavy.
From my previous posts, you can probably tell I’m a Jane Iredale fan. It’s true. It’s a great mineral makeup line. Why? Not only does it get the job done, but it does it without causing me to breakout. And with my acne-prone skin, that’s saying a lot.
The reason for it’s goodness is all about it’s ingredients. Free of oils, talc, dyes and parabens, this highly pigmented mineral powder provides SPF20 sun protection, as well as light diffusers, which makes the skin appear flawless and younger.
Other cool aspects: It can be applied wet as a concealer (with a small concealer brush) or dry with the powder puff (which I only recommend for on-the-go touch ups) or a kabuki-style makeup brush (which I think provides the best, even coverage).
As far as matching your skin, it’s pretty easy. Plus, if it’s not exact, it’s ok. I’ve noticed with mineral makeup, because you control the coverage, you simply apply it lighter if it doesn’t quite match or use it as more of a bronzer (especially if you get a darker shade accidentally). Fool-proof? Pretty much.
Go ahead, drop the cruelty-prone popular drugstore and department store brands and make the switch to the healthier makeup. You won’t be disappointed.
