I grew up in Northern Louisiana in an area known for its high humidity, so my face was never hurting for moisture. I’d wake up in the morning, shower and dress for school, and by third period my face was already shiny. (My math teacher used to fuss at me for putting on light powder in the classroom; however, I didn’t see it as “makeup”—I saw it as a coping necessity!) My skin was basically best classified as combination…or so I thought.
After moving to the West Coast, I was surprised to find how much moisturizer I needed to compensate for the climate change. I had consistently used eye creams for years, but I only used moisturizer proper sparingly. Over the past year and a half I’ve gone through several brands and varieties, but a major problem I kept encountering was that, in solving the moisture problem, products I tried kept clogging my pores. My face stays clear enough, for the most part, but I had areas with places that consistently and visibly stayed clogged despite application of on-the-spot, topical acne medications. And I’m the type of person who can’t just ignore a visibly clogged pore. So something had to be done!
Jen recently gave me Riversol’s T-Plus Daily Moisturizing Concentrate to try, and after using it consistently for a few weeks–I apply it nightly after washing my face, before I go to sleep–I raved to her that I think it’s a magical, magical product. The website says that the dermatologist-developed concentrate is “formulated for very dry, dry, or flaking skin.” However, the product packaging itself says it can be used for normal to dry skin, and I would agree with the latter. The Riversol line also has a Moisturizing Lotion, if one desires a lighter formula, but I enjoy the thickness of the concentrate—a little amount goes quite a ways. (I’ve had the two-ounce container for a few weeks now, and I’ve only been through maybe a centimeter’s worth.) It absorbs quite quickly post-application and doesn’t feel thick or weighty upon my face.
The T-Plus line—a line not tested on animals—derives its name from the ingredient thujaplicin, a substance apparently made from the red cedar tree that “has a very strong ability to inhibit the growth and resistance of most bacteria.”* This seems to make sense—in blocking out bacteria, then, the product is keeping my pores clear, clean, and free of unpleasant gunk. Those past problem regions on my face seem to be shrinking and staying clearer, and I think my face overall has a more even tone—when I don’t have clogged pores, I’m not fiddling with my face and/or don’t have to apply topical treatments that can sometimes redden or irritate the skin! Also, I’m reaping these wonderful benefits though I haven’t changed anything else in my skin care regimen or daily habits. Although this concentrate is a bit pricier than drugstore cruelty-free lotions, its wondrous effects are well worth the investment. And when you have a clear face, you can save money in other ways—you know, when you flaunt your beautiful face in public, attractive men will be dazzled by your sparkling complexion, and then you won’t have to spend a penny of your own at the bar! 🙂

I have been using the Riversol line for over a year and swear by it! It not only cleared my badly sun damaged skin of its dark spots but it also greatly improved my rosacea! You must try this line.

Dr. Rivers is the best! Thank you for creating such an amazing product. The serum and eye cream are superior to any anti ageing products I have bought in the past. I highly recommend this line.
