My name is Huda, and I’m a 23 year old full time paralegal student who spends her free time largely obsessing over anything beauty-related! Today I’m reviewing Sappho Cosmetics for you.
Sappho Cosmetics is a Canda-based company that offers a variety of makeup products that are free of harmful synthetic preservatives, including parabens, phthalates, gluten, mineral oil, talc and dimethicone. None of their products are tested on animals, their cute packaging is designed for utility and recyclability, and it’s their philosophy to keep minimizing their footprint on the environment as they develop new products.
I’ve received a few eyeshadows from their line, and couldn’t be more pleased with them! Firstly, the packaging is very eco-friendly, and I like the fact the top is transparent so you can easily see which color you’re grabbing. Additionally, they’re vegan, except Sweet Tarte! All of these shades are matte.
The swatches from left to right are Sweet Hailey (light brown), Cravin Cocoa (dark brown), Midnight Escape (black), Sweet Tarte (pink), and Vavavoom (soft periwinkle). Each shadow is $25 on their website.
Each eyeshadow is soft like butter, and very pigmented! There’s virtually no fallout, and lasts a good portion of the day. They’re also pretty versatile too. You can go as soft as you like for a nice wearable look (as I did using all the colors) or you can go very bold and dramatic if that’s more your style.
They come in a lot more variety on their website as well. Overall, I would rate these shadows an “A+.” Not only are the colors gorgeous, pigmented, easy to apply, and last all day, but they’re made with the healthiest ingredients, and good for the environment too!
