Skin by Carla Facial Review

Skin by Carla

I was referred to “Skin by Carla” – Carla Cohen, Skin Health Specialist (or as I like to call her “miracle worker”) by my friend and hair guru, Patricia Lynn Laas. I went to see Carla at Lulur Spa in West Hollywood on Robertson and Melrose.

Carla is a licensed clinical aesthetician and makeup artist with extensive knowledge and over 10 years of experience in the skincare industry. She has worked in doctors’ offices and med spas, and now has her own practice. Her treatments range from anti-aging, hyperpigmentation and acne to HydraFacials, Microdermabrasions, chemical peels, waxing and tinting.

She gave me an AMAZING facial using HydraFacial and iS Clinical skincare products (all cruelty free). I had the full HydraFacial MD Anti-Aging treatment with hydradermabrasion (think microdermabrasion but “wet” using a serum to penetrate the skin while exfoliating) and blue and red LED light treatments. Carla was careful not to loosen my eyelash extensions (too much steam can make them fall out, so she kept the steam to a minimum). She cleansed my skin, performed hydradermabrasion, used her machine for basic extractions, and then used her skillful hands for the difficult ones. Then she treated my skin and used the LED lights to reduce acne and treat hyperpigmentation.

I’m not a fan of facials that just do the same things I could do myself at home. Cleanse, tone, masque – no big deal. Carla goes way above and beyond the boring old facial. She is more of a clinical skin specialist, has lots of machines and gadgets, and often has dermatologists from major hospitals send patients her way.

She gave me a few samples of iS Clinical skincare. I’m excited to try the Active Serum, which is their hero product. It works on fine lines, acne and hyperpigmentation.

I had a great experience and I really think you get what you pay for with Carla! You can find her at Lulur Spa at 642 1/2 N. Robertson Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069. Visit her at www.skinbycarla.net. You can find her on Twitter and Instagram at @skinbycarla or visit her on Facebook at www.facebook.com/skinbycarla. Tell her My Beauty Bunny sent ya!
