Skincare for Stressed Skin

I often like to think that I am “SuperMorgan” and, whilst fueled on gallons of coffee, I can accomplish an unrealistic myriad of tasks in the meager 24 hours we’re allowed each day. Sometimes I’m pretty close to succeeding; however, quite often things pile up a bit and I’m forced to compromise (generally precious hours of sleep) and then unfortunately this manner of living works its way from the inside out and wreaks havoc on my face.

Lucky for me, cruelty free beauty brand, skyn ICELAND, recognizes this fact and has created a fantastic line of products addressing this exactly. Skyn ICELAND products, from the marketing to the ingredients, center on the creation of “solutions for stressed skin.” The font and packaging itself is modern, and the verbiage contains frenzied quotes such as: “Computer crashed. Presentation in an hour. Skin’s as irritated as I am.” This conveys the fact that they’re a company in touch with reality, and it’s something with which I immediately connected.

I was able to try the ANTIDOTE SPF 18 Mineral Sunscreen, the Arctic Face Mist, and the Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels. A bit about each:

– ANTIDOTE SPF 18 Mineral Sunscreen: For years I have used a lightweight moisturizer with sunscreen daily under my everyday makeup, and this fills that same need. It’s not greasy and didn’t appear to make my face shiny as the day went on. Two words though: tingly deluxe! Both the ANTIDOTE Mineral Sunscreen and the ANTIDOTE Daily Lotion share that a “cooling sensation is normal,” and this is definitely true. I put the lotion on, went to walk my dog outside, and over a few minutes it progressively continued to cause a tingling, cooling sensation over my face. If I hadn’t expected it (based upon reading the packaging) it might have freaked me out a little, but since I knew it was coming I found it invigorating.

– Arctic Face Mist: This is a refreshing quick spritz of vitamins. I thought this was great on warm afternoons after work, providing a bit of moisture and replacing nutrients after a day of exposed skin out in the world when I wasn’t ready yet for my pre-bed full-on routine, and it also worked great as a substitute toner in between washing my face and applying a moisturizer (an advertised quality).

Skyn Iceland Firming Eye Gels– Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels: I want to buy and share these with every woman I know!! These are pads that stick on underneath your eyes for up to ten minutes and which are intended to reduce under-eye puffiness. On days when I’ve been up too late working on homework and then have a several hour, um, nap before I have to get up for work, these were a lifesaver. I’d stick them on, leave them on when I was making coffee and eating breakfast, and then, boom–puffiness was greatly reduced. I truly noticed that my eyes felt less tired on days when I used the Gels versus days that I didn’t. There are also 8 pairs in the package, which is a pretty great buy for the price based on their effectiveness.

I really enjoyed the products…so much that after receiving press samples from the company, I actually went out and bought the Antioxidant Calming Serum too. The marvelous, refreshing products produced by skyn ICELAND can be purchased at skynICELAND.com or at Sephora, Ricky’s NYC, Victoria’s Secret Direct, Beauty.com, Skinstore.com, Beauty Collection, and Saks.com.
