Stript Wax Bar Stem Cell Facial

Stript Wax Bar Stem Cell FacialI just had a terrific facial at Stript Wax Bar on 3rd Street in Los Angeles! In my opinion a facial has two major components – the quality of the products and the skill of the esthetician. Ambiance, location, price, parking and all that stuff are important, but the effectiveness of the facial depends on those two things.

The Stem Cell Facial I received from esthetician, Inez, at Stript was good because the products were strong, but mostly because Inez knew which products to use, how long to leave them on, how to do the extractions without scarring and how to do a great massage!

Location – 8218 W. 3rd St, Los Angeles, CA 90048 – Stript has 5 locations in the San Francisco area and 1 in LA. The LA location has a few parking spots in the back – you have to drive into the alley behind the shops to find it. There are a lot of cute eateries and shops around this area. It’s also close to the Grove/Farmer’s Market.

Treatment – Stem Cell Facial

  • Private room – yes
  • Time – 1 hour
  • Steam – no
  • Extractions – yes
  • Massage – yes
  • Relaxing – 2 out of 5 – pop music is loud and the lights aren’t dimmed for most of the treatment; face, arm, chest and upper back massage was relaxing though; not meant to be a relaxing facial
  • Esthetician – Inez – 5 out of 5 – she knew her stuff, was very personable and did a great job
  • Products – Dermaquest Skin Therapy – I bought the glycolic acid cleanser on my way out to try to keep my acne at bay when I’m at home
  • Price* – $$
  • Would I go again? Yes.

For more information or to book an appointment visit Stript Wax Bar online or on Facebook.

* Price legend:

  • $ – $0 – $75
  • $$ – $76 – $125
  • $$$ – $125 – $200
  • $$$$ – $200+

I didn’t realize that if someone tried to do extractions it could cause scarring! It sounds like an interesting facial to try.
