Cruelty Free Summer Fashion
It’s summer time! And that means storing away the long sleeves and whipping out the breezy, cool clothing that were made for these hot months! While I’m not a fan of shorts all too much, dresses become a big staple for me during the summer season. For one, they can catch a breeze while still looking gorgeous and put together and two, who doesn’t want the ease of picking out a whole outfit in one piece? Talk about easy! This is the lazy girl’s fashion dream, looking good while keeping it easy.
Byer California contacted us at My Beauty Bunny and asked if we would like to try any of their cruelty free clothing in spirit of it hitting the higher digits lately, and I gladly jumped at the opportunity. Whether you are looking for work appropriate wear, or something casual to wear on the weekends, Byer has something for all of us!
I no longer work in an office setting, so the days of dark slacks, blouses and pencil skirts are behind me (hallelujah!), and I opted to pick something I could wear any day of the week, the Del Mar Broken Stripe Maxi Dress. I choose this dress because I could hit the grocery store to do some shopping but could also wear this on a date night with my husband without having to worry if I’m dressy enough for dinner.
The adjustable straps were an added bonus on this dress since some necklines tend to feel a little low and keeps the dress from falling off my shoulders. The elastic waistband nips right at my natural waist to give me some shape without having to be clingy and showing too much. And did I mention that this dress was the perfect floor length for myself at a towering 5’4”? I’m kidding about my height by the way, but good to note that this is a flat sandal worthy dress which I love and prefer.
I also like that the material doesn’t show wrinkles (showing my lazy side again) even after being stored in the shipping bag for a week or so and taking a nap on the couch on a particularly hot summer day. I was able to hop right up, straighten out my hair and I was ready for a late lunch with the hubby without worrying I looked like a hot mess. And who doesn’t like dry cleaning? ME! This dress can be thrown into the wash (cold cycle only) so no need for the extra special care of some other dresses I have that end up sitting in the back of my closet because I’m not willing to make a trip to the cleaners.
Byer California has a few other items that I feel I MUST add to my summer wardrobe, like the Triada Batik Pant that look so comfy and would work with any solid tank I own. I also like the Escondido Shark Bite Top because I’ve been sculpting these shoulders of mine in boot camp class and this top would show them off perfectly. But my favorite piece of all is the Yorba Linda Tie Dye Kimono that I can throw over any solid tank I own with some jeans or shorts for a put together outfit in like, seconds!

strips and leopard prints are my favorite. I just love bright colors like purple, blue and green. The strip pattern in black and white that you have shared is nice as well.

The flowy kind of dress really works great on summertime. It’s not only the fashion sense but also the comfort it gives to the one wearing it.
