Ahh, the weather is finally warming up and prime beach weather is upon us. Alas, despite my Filipino heritage, I look like Alice Cullen… And we all know what happens when Alice goes in the sun… SHE SPARKLES! No. Just kidding. I will not sparkle. I will just look like that awkward person who never sees the sun because of finals. Oh wait, that is me. But seriously, all joking aside, I’m going to the beach this weekend and I don’t want to look sickly. Rather, I want a nice tan, gloss, with shimmer and a subtle bronze sheen. Oh snap! Did I just describe ModelCo. Tan Gloss? I think so.
ModelCo. Tan Gloss is a gradual self-tanner with shimmer in it. Apply it to exfoliated skin, massage, and your skin is immediately glowy and bronze. I loved this self-tanner because you see immediate results AS WELL as knowing that it’s building a tan. The gel was a quite thin, making it incredibly easy to massage into the skin, and an awesome unexpected result? It didn’t come off on my clothes and smells awesome.
Now, I’m sure you’re thinking, well what about all that shimmer? Glitter and shimmer and such can be so annoying! There are two bits of good news to this. 1) The shimmer in this product is so fine that somebody would have to be looking at your legs/ arms/ décolletage from less than a foot away. And if somebody is looking at you that closely they’re either weird, or you’re dating them and they don’t care. 2) The shimmer washes off in the shower, while the self-tanner stays and continues to build.
If you’re looking for a great cruelty-free self-tanner that WON’T make you look Snooki orange, ModelCo. Tan Gloss is just for you. You can find ModelCo. Tan Gloss at Ulta.

First thing I think of when I hear about tanning with commercial products is skin cancer, due to their propylene glycol content in these industrialized products . Am I just too paranoid, or there are 100% herb-based alternatives?
