Hi cruelty free friends! I have some of the new Amazonian Colored Clay products from Tarte Cosmetics to review for you today. The items are part of the new Colored Clay 7-pc collection available on QVC.
So, if you are wondering what colored clay is and how Tarte incorporates it into their beauty products, here is a little excerpt from them:
“Harvested from the earth, colored clay is a unique ingredient packed with skin-loving nutrients. Each color is made up of a different composition of minerals, giving it its rich color.” Tarte also goes on to say, “The clay gathers in the Amazon River’s basin, where it’s at its highest nutrient concentration. After harvesting the sun naturally bakes the clay, locking in all of the plant and fruit nutrients. The clay is then shaved down into a finely milled powder and infused only into Tarte’s high-performance natural™ formulas.”
Tarte Colored Clay CC Primer is a revolutionary correcting stick infused with Tarte’s new color correcting colored clay. This skinvigorating™ primer easily blends into skin for an even, all-over airbrushed look. The color light matched my skin very well. It looked slightly dark when first applied but once I blended, it was the perfect match! The texture is so light and it made my skin feel silky smooth. It also did a great job at blurring my pores. I found it to be slightly drying, so be sure to moisturize first. I think this will be a great product for summer when it’s hot and you want light coverage. It can be worn on its own, or under foundation. To apply, I swiped the primer stick directly onto to my skin then smoothed out with my fingers then I finished by buffing it with the angled bamboo foundation brush. (Which is so soft by the way!)
The Amazonian Colored Clay Bronzer Blush in Pink Bronze is new and is currently available exclusively in the 7-piece kit. The blush is in a mosaic style with lightly shimmery shades of pink, rose, taupe and bronze. When swirled together it gives a warm flush of radiance that adds a healthy glow to my fair complexion!
Also new and exclusive to the 7-piece collection is the Colored Clay Eyeliner in black. It is very pigmented and delivers a deep rich black. It applies very smoothly with no pulling or tugging. If you have oily lids like me, I would recommend starting with a base of Tarte’s Creaseless Eye Primer because I found this liner to be a little smudgy after a few hours.
Overall, I really enjoyed these new Tarte goodies and defiantly plan on using the primer and the blush more in the summer! As always, Tarte products are cruelty free and formulated without parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, triclosan, sodium lauryl sulfate and gluten.

Didn’t Tart get bought out by a company that does animal testing?
Jen Mathews says
Yes but they are still certified cruelty free.

I tried the CC stick, and at first I thought I loved it, but it really didn’t go well for me in the long run. Just never properly sat on my face, and applying anything on top of it wasn’t happening D:

No longer cruelty free 🙁 http://www.musingsofamuse.com/2014/03/kose-buys-tarte-cosmetics.html

Yes, and although they’re trying to hold to the cruelty-free standards, over 90% of their company was sold to KOSE in Japan, who indeed tests on animals. So when you purchase Tarte products, your money will go toward animal testing in Japan. I am so upset over this, I just bought an awesome Tarte mascara specifically because I was reassured it was cruelty-free, first time with the product ever, and now I have to return it upon further investigation 🙁
