The Organic Pharmacy – Body Treatment & Beauty Drops!

in Body, Misc, Salons, Skin on 05/07/15

The Organic Pharmacy

The Organic Pharmacy is an amazing apothecary/health/beauty style destination that you can find all over the world. The Beverly Hills location is a main stop when I’m there – they have amazing, cruelty free beauty products, supplements, tonics and recently, I tried one of their signature body treatments!

The Organic Pharmacy

Their Green Coffee Body Sculpting Treatment was a combination of techniques from many different cultures. It’s designed to increase circulation and lymph flow (which I desperately needed), tighten and firm skin – especially in your problem areas.

The Organic Pharmacy Treatments
The treatment starts with a salon strength body oil as the first massage which heats the body. Heating the body helps increase the fat burning effects of the other ingredients and helps stimulate blood flow

Then, you get what I would describe as a deep tissue / lymph massage, followed by slapping (think of a Russian banya) and deep kneading that helps to move lymph and massage your internal organs. The slapping was a bit painful, but nothing I couldn’t handle. I told her to go easy on me – especially since I have fibromyalgia and I’m very sensitive. She also uses warm towels which are nice.

The second part of the massage used a body sculpting gel which incorporates lipoytic agents and toning ingredients to continue the process but also contains cooling agents to cool the skin. The alternate heat /cool has an extra stimulating effect on the lymphatic system. The entire treatment lasts 60 minutes. A series of 6 treatments is recommended with 2 treatments per week for optimum results.

Brit Week Los Angeles

I also happened to be there during Brit Week in Los Angeles, which was perfect, because the lovely owner, Margo, is from England. I am on a diet, so no British-themed treats for me, but don’t they look amazing?

Beauty Drops

They also gave me their new Beauty Drops to try. This product is really cool. The active ingredients are bilberry, gotu kola and ginseng. You can mix the drops with water or put them directly in your mouth to get glowing skin from within. They don’t taste bad on their own – I’m used to the tinctures that are full of alcohol and these are not like that at all. They can also be mixed in with your favorite cream or serum to be applied directly to your skin! A double duty product – very cool! When used with skincare, the ingredient combination boosts antioxidant protection of skin and when sipped, improves the energy of cells and skin hydration. They are a bit pricy, but the ingredients are pure – undiluted with water or alcohol, and you only need 5 drops (or 2-3 drops if you’re mixing with facial skincare products). Overall, a splurge, but a good one!
