toms of maine lipcare my beauty bunny

As far back as I can remember, and even before I was born! (founded in 1970), Tom’s of Maine has been pioneering their all-natural, cruelty free, vegetarian dental hygiene products. One of the first companies to introduce any such product, their toothpastes quickly became a fixture in animal-loving homes everywhere (including mine.) I remember being excited when they came out with deodorant and soap, and more recently body and baby care. But they’ve really put the icing on the cake with their newest line: lip care products.
The line includes Organic Moisturizing Lip Balm, Lip Shimmer, and Lip Gloss. First off, if you click on over to their website  you’ll see that each product page contains a cool chart to explain the source and purpose of each ingredient. Yay for transparency! The products contain a variety of different moisturizers, including shea butter, sunflower seed oil, and coconut oil. And of equal importance, they DON’T contain nasty things like parabens, phthalates or phenoxyethanol. All three lip products (like all Tom’s of Maine products) are vegetarian, but contain beeswax, and are therefore not vegan.

Organic Moisturizing Lip Balm: This comes in two flavors, Island Paradise (which tastes just like an orange creamsicle pop!) and Peppermint (which is tingly like menthol.) Both flavors provided great moisture that actually lasted longer than my other cruelty-free lip balms. (I’ve already started to trade out my old ones as Tom’s of Maine lip balms become available in stores…)toms of maine lip shimmer my beauty bunny

Lip Shimmer: These thin sticks look like a hybrid gloss/lipstick, but don’t worry – the color is extremely light. Don’t be fooled by how dark the stick looks. These babies provide just the right amount of sparkly shimmer, without any heavy, unnatural color. They also give that fresh menthol feel, which makes you want to just pucker up…

Lip Gloss: Wowzers! I love it! This lip gloss is moist! It’s shiny! It’s delicious! The flavor is extremely delicate, nothing heavily fruity or overbearing, but quite enjoyable. It also provided a very light color and sheen, and really kept my lips noticeably moist for an hour or so. The sheer color lasted even after the moisture had absorbed.
I’m loving how Tom’s of Maine is expanding their product line and can’t wait to see what they introduce next!
