I love finding small businesses that sell GREAT products, and I could keep this secret all to myself, but luckily I don’t think they’re going to run out of soap anytime soon, so I’ll share with you! The secret is a small family business from Texas called A Wild Soap Bar. They make and sell completely natural soaps – for your body, your laundry and even your teeth!
I was lucky enough to try three of their wonderful soaps – horsemint, sea scrub and wildflower. The packaging alone is fabulous and what’s inside is even better.
Horsemint Soap
The horsemint soap is made with horsemint of course, and tea tree oil – natural antibacterial agents. I had no idea triclosan (the active ingredient in Clearasil and anti-bacterial hand soaps) was considered dangerous! It has been linked to cancer, developmental defects, hormone disruption and can degrade into dioxin, an even more highly toxic chemical. This soap does not contain triclosan, but it does include many fresh, natural ingredients that do the trick without causing harm!
Ingredients: saponified cold pressed olive, coconut, organic palm, sunflower, and castor oils, distilled water, essential oils (spearmint, peppermint, tea tree, benzoin, thyme), french green clay, wild horsemint, wild chickweed, & sea salt
Sea Scrub Soap
I’m a sucker for anything from the sea – don’t ask me why. This sea scrub soap contains sea clay and Atlantic sea kelp. Sea kelp (seaweed) has moisturizing, anti-inflammatory, revitalizing and disinfecting properties. The bar is topped with Himalayan sea salt that can be used as an exfoliant. Overall, it’s a good exfoliator, but a little bit too abrasive for my sensitive skin – so I use it on my body with a loofah or scrub cloth. I also use it directly on my feet to remove dead skin. Love it.
Ingredients: saponified cold pressed olive, coconut, organic palm, sunflower, & castor oils, distilled water, sea salt, finely ground pumice, essential oils (orange, palmarosa, lemon, rose geranium, cedarwood, cassia, vetiver), sea clay, and Atlantic sea kelp
Wildflower Soap
I used the wildflower soap today and it smells wonderful! It’s got tons of great ingredients to moisturize and purify your skin. It’s also pretty and would make a great gift.
Ingredients: saponified cold pressed olive, coconut, organic palm, sunflower, shea butter, jojoba, and castor oils, distilled water, essential oils, earth clays, organic aloe & oats, sea salt, honey, goats milk, wildflowers and numerous other botanicals, pine tar, pumice, and earth pigments
I will definitely have to try more from this company!
