Liquid eyeliner is my jam. I’ve been rocking winged liner daily for close to a decade. But I ask a lot from my eyeliner…I have hooded lids, oily skin, watery eyes, AND I often wear it during my sweaty workouts. To say that my eyeliner needs to be bulletproof is hardly an exaggeration! I pride myself on having tried most of the water-resistant and waterproof liquid liner on the market. So when I snagged Urban Decay’s new line of Razor Sharp Long-Wear Liquid Eyeliner I was excited to see that they claimed to be water-resistant. I was ready to put them to the test!
But first let’s take a close-up look at these beauties. The swatches from top to bottom are Bump (matte white), Cuff (metallic silver), Revolver (metallic gunmetal), Perversion (matte black), Fireball (metallic bronzey red), Snakebite (metallic brown), Goldrush (metallic gold), Kush (metallic green). I was really impressed with how they applied. The brush is extremely precise and easy to work with. All of the colors are very opaque, though I did apply a second coat of Cuff because it’s so light.
Now let’s get down to the nitty gritty. How do they wear? I wore Perversion for a long day of meetings that ended with an intense yoga class. Unfortunately my eyes were extra watery that morning, and by lunchtime, my left wing had half melted off. Other than that, the rest of my eyeliner held up perfectly though the rest of the day and wasn’t even effected by my workout. My final thoughts on the formula are mixed – I think it would be excellent for anyone who doesn’t have as many eye-area challenges as I do! If you have some combination of watery eyes, oily skin, and hooded lids, you might want to consider something a little more waterproof. I will definitely be hanging onto these bad boys for doing little color accents on top of my preferred waterproof black eyeliner as well as for lip art!
Here’s my latest lip art (follow me on Instagram while you’re at it!):
What is your go-to eyeliner?

Thanks for the review, Emily.
I love Milani’s Ultrafine Liquid Eyeliner for my hooded, oily lids. The problem is that CVS no longer stocks that liner & I have to resort to buying it online.
What black eyeliner do you prefer?

Hi Lisa – Emily is still on the hunt to find a cruelty free eyeliner that can withstand her watery eyes!
