Limited Edition Urban Decay Vice 4 Palette Review and Swatches
Everyone’s been waiting for the Urban Decay Vice 4 Palette, and I’m excited to share it with you! It’s definitely a palette for girls who aren’t afraid to have fun. Even though I wouldn’t call this an every day eyeshadow palette, I have found myself reaching for it again and again. It has the fun, bright, highly pigmented shades Urban Decay is known for, and there are definitely some crowd-pleasing, wearable shades as well.
First of all, the packaging is just amazing. It’s made to mimic the colors in an oil slick, and has an ’80s vibe (in a good way). It’s hard to photograph the holographic cover to really do it justice. Quite different from other packaging I’ve seen! The large palette comes with 20 shades, a mirror and a dual-end shadow and crease brush. It also comes with it’s own makeup case, which is nice for travel or simply to keep it clean and neat. I have mine on display in my makeup area, because it just looks so cool! .
Shades:
- Bones (oyster satin w/pearl)
- Framed (light neutral matte-satin)
- Discreet (soft dusty mauve matte)
- Bitter (reddish brown matte)
- Grip (taupe matte w/iridescent micro-glitter)
- Fast-Ball (metallic peachy pink w/pink micro-glitter)
- Grasshopper (metallic emerald w/green micro-glitter)
- Flame (bright orange w/gold micro-glitter)
- Deadbeat (black satin w/iridescent micro-glitter)
- 1985 (metallic fuchsia w/fuchsia micro-glitter)
- C-Note (frosted green w/micro-glitter)
- Low (brown matte w/iridescent micro-glitter)
- Beat Down (deep metallic violet w/blue micro-glitter)
- Underhand (burgundy-brown satin)
- Arctic (bright teal w/tonal sparkle)
- Crowbar (black w/golden metallic pearl and micro-glitter)
- Pandemonium (metallic plum w/iridescent micro-glitter)
- Harlot (metallic lavender)
- Robbery (deep metallic brown-gunmetal)
- Delete (deep chestnut brown matte-satin)
All of the swatches (above) are swatched on clean skin without primer, using my fingertips for maximum color. For a lighter touch, you can use a brush. Low and Crowbar have the largest pieces of glitter, so for maximum effect, they are best applied with your finger or a sponge-tipped applicator.
You can take a single shade up to the crease and then blend it out with a clean brush for a pop of color, or you can blend the shades together to create your own masterpiece. You can even use the shadows as eyeliner. Wet your liner brush for a more intense effect. For maximum color, don’t forget to use the Eyeshadow Primer Potion. It not only makes the colors pop, but it keeps the shadows from fading, slipping or creasing.

Wow, there are some seriously amazing colours in this palette! So vibrant, I’d be scared to use them, but they are so beautiful.
